Good Job. We always use a hot drift for the seatbelt/seat pan holes. Nice and clean and seals the the carpet from fraying. Plus the jute mat is a PITA to cut. FWIW ditch the firewall mat and use a good B-Quiet mat or alike. That old style mat will drive you to drinking. Putting it in and working around it in the future. Still have the scar.

Dude, you're getting crazy good at editing your videos. Can I hire you to do mine? 😅 loving the switching back and forth between the truck and mustang btw.

Ha, I'm editing at a 4th grade level, at best. I think if it's good it's all luck. I'm not sure if switching between these two projects is good for my sanity, but at least it's more content for the channel. :)

Another great video by an everyday mustanger like the rest of us... love the channel!!! My GT350H is not as far along as your Fastback but I will be utilizing many of your videos to make those future installs easier and less frustrating. Keep 'em coming!

Looks good! Once the seats are in no one will ever notice it’s the wrong carpet. One thought though, this would have been a great time to add dynamat or similar. It makes a huge difference in noise from the road and heat from the exhaust and drive train.

Instead of a soldering iron you can hold a nail in vice grips. Heat the nail up with a torch. When done toss the nail. No clean up.
@AndyKruseChannel
@AndyKruseChannel 9 ай бұрын
Yeah, that was going to be the backup plan if the soldering iron didn't work. I would have liked the 'less cleanup" option though. :)

Can you do a video about install of the fold down rear seat? Your videos are super helpful.
@AndyKruseChannel
@AndyKruseChannel 8 ай бұрын
I’m not sure it would be helpful enough. There’s on a few screws and bolts, and aligning the folding seat part is dependent on the car itself in. I remove it my video with the rear shocks, maybe there’s some help there?

That carpet looked new. To bad it won't fit in the truck project. This would have been a good time to put sound deadener down. Also good for reflecting exhaust heat from entering the car. Plus, it could have been another "how to" video for you to do.

Hi Andy! Quick question: when you are working with your doors open, do you just disconnect the battery cable so that the interior lights don't come on or is there a trick to disable the interior lights when the doors are open? When I work I have them open for hours and don't want to drain my battery. I tape the buttons down but after an hour they pop back up. I know, weird question but I am a noob getting deep into restoring my '66 Fastback. Thank you and love the content and following your journey. Your car is amazing.

If I know I'm going to have the doors open for a long time, I just disconnect the battery, nothing fancy. Because of my smaller garage, I usually have to close the door to get around it, then open it back up to get in, realize I grabbed the wrong tool, close the door to get by, etc. :)

not gonna por15 the floor? all that exposed metal will rust. plus, from experience, those mass backing carpets hold a lot of moisture to the floor.

If you’ve got a steam gun, that’ll help you mould the carpet into place. In the awkward places. That’s what I’ve used in the past.
