for the compliance book, you need the following; 1.FMCSA current rules & regulations 2.Enroll in a DOT Drug program.Keep the form with you in the book. 3:Pre Trip inspection sheet (Hours of Service) 4: Complete a driver vehicle inspection report (every day) paperwork must be in vehicle at all times 5: Certificate of Insurance / Card 6: BOC3 7:ELD paper log book 8:Medical Card 9:File for BOL ( Bill of Lading ) Shipper & receiver, when picking up a load. 10: LLC certificate / secretary of state copy 11: Make sure you have your commercial truck emergency kit especially fire extinguisher.

#2 is not for box truck owners. We do not need the drug consortium. That is for CDL tractor trailer drivers #4 is the pre trip and is done electronically unless your ELD is down (pre trip) Otherwise. Thanks for adding

Make Sure that you get the cable with right voltage. Not any cable that looks like that will work. Also, what i have seen other truckers use is run a one cable with cigarette plug and has usb ports to the dash, and on dash they got their phone mounted and gps as well. Therefore all of the cables are out of the way.

Amazon drivers out of Holyoke Ma. were told that they were no longer allowed to mount devices on the windshield. (it obstructs the view?) I wonder if that was because of complaints from highway patrol. If so, is that applicable in other states?

Your required to have paper logs in case your ELD goes down but you don’t have to keep both. If you have to use them you can’t use more than 8 days straight and also you must keep 8 days worth in your truck www.fmcsa.dot.gov/hours-service/elds/electronic-logging-device-eld-exemptions-and-waivers

Commercial drivers need an ELD. It has nothing to do with who you’re driving for such as Amazon. Hours of service is a DOT rule to ensure you are driving a safe amount of hours and the FMCSA has the informations here www.fmcsa.dot.gov/regulations/hours-of-service. Not the annual inspection but you are subject to DOT inspections in whatever vehicle your driving. Some brokers require x amount of time on your authority and at least 2 DoT inspectors

Interstate non-CDL drivers of vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight (GVW), gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR), gross combination weight (GCW) or gross combination weight rating (GCWR) between 10,001 and 26,000 pounds require a DQF. “ so I wasn’t sure cause I see some have it and some don’t

@@yamundowjatta8275 I researched the FMCSA website and here is what it is csa.fmcsa.dot.gov/safetyplanner/documents/Forms/Driver%20Qualification%20Checklist_508.pdf. We are owner operators so all this doesn’t apply to us. The DQF encompasses a few things of which we have in our DOT compliance binder. Record of HOS, DOT medical cards , dot inspections and PM maintenance records. Hope that helps. Also don’t take others advice. The FMCSA should be your go to for info. They set the rules

You can only train driver if your Boxtruck has a sleeper. Two people can share the HOurs of service for the day but they can’t have individual hours
