Good information but the N rating doesn't mean it's a bad Broker. As a Broker they probably are new and don't have credit established on that particular board. You can always go to D&B to pull the credit score of the company/Broker and forward it to your factoring company if it's a load you actually want.

Your right on with DAT, you should be able to set destination in your filter also. In your example with raymonville tx, you should also look at empty-miles that you have to travel to get to the shipper. If you have 200 to get to the shipper than your miles are 900+200 to engage the freight. next, you should talk about freight in and outbound to & from your destination but yes 1 usd and come sml change for 900 miles is poor for CPM.

I am new to this idea and looking into whether this would be a viable business for me. I am not in a big city but between 2 big cities which are 90 miles away either way. So much to think about but I feel like in todays online shopping world a person can make a profitable business in the box truck world. I have been in business for myself for the past 20 years and make pretty good money at it. I am just tired of the work I do and am interested in finishing my working years off doing something else. I currently have a Class B cdl and drive a school bus as a way to get access to health insurance. I feel like this is something I could scale up as well if I wanted to. Just a lot to learn and consider. The hardest part of starting my current business 20 years ago was figuring out how much to charge the customer. I did okay with my starting cost estimates but I am at 3x that rate now. LOL Thanks for the videos.

I'm glad you mentioned negotiating, because I've noticed as I'm sure many others have, that many new authorities that are also youtubers, are accepting cheap loads for less than $2/mile. Thats causing rates to be too low for others to operate. And imo, I don't think the ones accepting the cheap loads have a clue about their own operating costs.
