Never a lack of things to do when you are "homesteading" or building up to homesteading. Just think, one day you all can sit back sipping on something good and look at all the progress you have made. You will get there.

Maybe think about reflectors lining your pathway cause when it’s dark one can possibly slip over those steep edges or that culvert that needs repairing 🤗 Try to clear away all the dead brush too✨

Hope that lithium grease worked out well for you guys and the screen moves much better. It's tough man when you got a lot of rock in the ground, you almost just have to haul in some top soil and put on top of the rock and work with that. I don't know how much rock you have in the ground on your road edges, but if its mostly gravel sized you can tilt your box blade at an angle and cut in a ditch on either side of the road to move water and keep it from cutting ruts on your road. Once you get some road base or if you can use your box blade tines to bring the gravel sized rock to the surface you can put a crown in the middle of your road with your tractor. If you have access to an excavator that would save you a ton of tractor work. Are you going with a tin / metal culvert? Love you guys property, cant wait to see it all. Ya'll be careful out in that heat, it aint no joke for ole folks like us lol It's keepin me in the house in Texas

Yes sir, the grease makes the screen door slide like butter. Think I used way too much grease though...LOL. Going with a steel culvert. We hired our neighbor who has an excavator and skid steer to replace it for us. Operating an excavator is above my "know-how skills" at the moment. Hell, I'm still hesitant about using my chainsaw...I plan on making an attempt at doing exactly what you stated with the box blade and making a crown on our driveway in the fall. I'll use the driveway as practice before I mess around with the road...LOL. Yeah man, getting old is no joke. Mentally I'm 35, my back and joints say I'm 105...

@@7sigmaoff-grid I know Exactly what you mean, I am the same way. On the chainsaw, I have three, I have one that is a beast I use for felling trees, but I find myself using the lightest one most of the time because it dont take much work with a heavy saw to wear you out. make sure and dont let the chain set in the dirt it will dull it real quick and resharpening is time consuming lol. You can wipe off some of the lithium grease it dont take a whole lot. The steel culvert is good choice as long as you arent bringing a whole lot of weight over it, they can handle a good amount though. I look forward to seeing you do some more tractor work, I found your channel when looking for my Yanmar and love it so far....im waiting for it to cool down some before i really put it to work tho.

Yeah I'm looking forward to getting some more tractor seat time. 50 hour service is coming up soon, which will be fun cause I'm not the most mechanically inclined...Which Yanmar model did you get?

You should have left a 2 to 4 inch space between your paver . This would help balance the paver, when you add the sand.

I guess the several ways you guys could have made it maybe less work could have been building a form and having a concrete truck dump you a pour and finish it your self. I just order a deck. I love to see you guys having so much fun working together🌄🦍☮️❤️

That’s one way of doing it …but of course …Less work equals more money (using the route you’ve recommended)😉 Very expensive having a concrete truck come to our remote location. Hard work is to be expected, just have to choose our battles. We’d rather use concrete truck money elsewhere.
