I did something similar except I soldered wires directly onto the strips because the litcessories adapters weren’t readily available when I did my project a year ago. It was my first time soldering and it was terrible but functional lol. It’s starting fail so I’m considering redoing my entire setup and really getting some practice down. Now that I’m done rambling, I’d recommend some aluminum channels if your really want to diffuse the light instead of having the harsh led spots with the reflections. Just a recommendation even though this video is older already lol. Great video though!

Thank you for doing this video, I'm redoing my kitchen and it looks like this is exactly what I will use for under cabinet lighting. Quick question: I realize that a remote control controls it all but can it also be left on and then controlled simply by a switch on the wall as well? More specifically, if the light strip is on but I turn it off at the switch on the wall, will it come back on when I turn the switch on or do I have to use the remote to turn it on as well?

Steve, I tested this out for you with my lights by turning them on and then unplugging them and plugging them back in. When I plug them back in, they turned on. So, I would guess if that if you had a outlet controlled by a switch on the wall, then it would work as you are wanting it to. I would say, the remote is really nice as it allows you to have a dimmer. We keep it on our refrigerator since it has a magnetic backing.

If you use the hub/hue software, you can tell it exactly what you want it to do in a "after power-off" scenario

This was very helpful as I am planning to split my runs from above the vent of my stove. Is there not a splitter v4 for micro? How did you accomplish the splitter with v3 standard 6 pin which the link points to?

That’s strange, The version 4 was available when I posted that link (I use the version four) I guess the availability changes. I think I found it straight from the supplier site though. So here’s a link for that. litcessory.com/product/splitter/

@@stephenofalltrades1422 I did end up finding their site. I learned a lesson not to cut the light strip while powered on 😞. Killed my first set. Luckily a certain store is very generous with returns.
