Looks great. An easy way to make a wall look like a barn. I vote for the metal ceiling. Keep em coming!

Great looking space man. One thing I noticed was, you should’ve used PT for your bottom plates.

Just the video I was looking for. Getting ready to finish my building, and I planned on siding like you did, and notching around the angles. Only my plan is to use 1 x 4 horizontal girts attached to the metal studs, and siding over the top. Hoping that works.

I've decided to have horizontal metal siding, so I can run my electric through the grooves. Then, use 3/4" vertical 1x2 slats against the siding to allow for 1-1/2" foam board insulation to be installed flush with the metal studs. Tape the joints, Spray texture, and paint right over the foam board. Since I will be installing tons of peg board, shelves, and storage racks, I don't need beautiful looking walls. I just need it to be white and functional.

Looks great bud, I do have a question, I have been wanting to use T-1-11 in my shop for a while, im going to do like a corner bar area and want a rustic look. but i have read that the T-1-11 uses a formaldehytde binder ( or something similiar) when it is made and it shoud only be used outdoors for fear of the gases it my put off in doors? I'm just wandering if this is a legit concern. Thanks ...

I'm not sure about all that. I wouldn't eat it lol, and maybe wear a mask when you cut it. but I'd think it would be fine on the wall! Disclaimer: I am not a medical professional 😆

Do the ceiling in a rustic corrugated metal. Like the outer walls. Add more insulation.

I have the same style metal bldg. can I attach the plywood directly to metal or add horizontal 1x then attach to that? Concern is weight hanging things on walls

Hi, I'm going to be building a 30 x 45 metal garage and I love all your ideas, FYI I would encase the steel angle supports in pine, to loose the metal look, but it may go with the metal roofing

What's the dimensions of the square tubing used for the building frame? Who was the building manufacturer? What is the white insulation panels inside the framing?
@PatriotDIY
@PatriotDIY 3 ай бұрын
I believe it 2.5x3.5" steel tubing. The white is double bubble reflective insulation, I have a video on the install.

2" foam would have slipped between those frames and then you can put plywood directly on metal frame with self tappers. Just did a 50x30 this way. Took 3 days with 3 guys and a 4th day with 2 guys for the front with 2 10x10 roll up doors. That was the hardest part. Fitting around roll up doors.

Not a bad idea BUT, My metal frame is 60" on center, my way ads alot more support behind the plywood and allows me to use the full 4x8 sheet rather than wasting 3ft off every sheet!
@mediocrefloridaman
@mediocrefloridaman 4 ай бұрын
@PatriotDIY that does make sense! The one we just did was 4' centers so that made it a little easier. Them self tappers to get into that galvanized metal was some work for sure, though. Your way is awesome because it's easy running once the framing is in place. Awesome job!
