Installing Polyurethane Bushings (Melting out rubber bushings)

In this video we are installing polyurethane bushings in our front control arms! Overall it was actually much easier than I thought it would be. A MAPP torch helps burn out the old bushings, and a bench vise helps to press the new bushings right into place.

You can heat up the tool n clean if with a rag 👍

From your experience, would it be better to paint them after? I know you can touch them up if they get scratched. Was wondering if just masking the new bushings off after install would be better. I plan on doing this maybe this summer.

I don't think it matters either way. Ideally you would paint when all the bushings are out masking off the area the bushings are pressed into. But if you don't care about the paint on that sleeve like I showed being burnt, it's not a big deal to paint before.

I painted them after I removed my bushings since the heat will cause bubbling and what not... just my two cents.
