FWIW - Autozone has this as Duralast part #SU4098. It’s clearly not up to OEM quality, but I tried it and it does work. $70 as of this posting, in case it helps anyone out…

Own an 87 300 z .Moved to sarasota and found every numbskull so called expert on z engines . If I was a violent person I think a Ray Donovan baseball bat might at least a temporary solution. Problem is at 78 my chassis is failing worse every day and a louisville slugger is not a real option. a half hour listening to you is like a cool breeze blowing in from the gulf which doesn't happen until december in florida. I will subscribe at with my next pay check. thanks for the light at the end of this florida tunnel.

Do you still have the Shinsen? I’m looking at one. It’s between that and a 1999 with leather interior. Not sure which would be more collectible. Both same mileage and condition. Good video.

what did you do with the bar that goes across the top of the radiator to make it fit now that the hose is higher?
@ExCordeEnt16 күн бұрын
Im going with this exact setup. Im redoing my entire exhaust manifold and turbo setup and while im at it im replacing my Intercooler and upgrading the radiator to a champion 3 row. The old fans that the previous owner installed are just sitting on top of the radiator with nothing holding them but hopes & dreams. The way he wired it up requires my to toggle a switch to turn them on. With your wiring do your fans use a thermostat to turn on? Id really like to ditch the switch and utilize an automatic fan situation.

Hey I seem to be having the exact same issue regarding my coil packs. Where coil A fires at the correct rate and B fires at half and so on. Can you recall the issue and or solution you had here. I know it’s a 3 year old video but anything would be appreciated.
@TheZGarage20 күн бұрын
I don't remember the exact cause but just make sure your wiring is correct. Depending on your coil, ensure you have sensor ground, signal, power, and possibly chassis ground hooked up to the correct pins. I swapped my wiring around on the latest build and it was causing weird spark behavior, but now that it's correct everything seems fine.

You were locked in two gears because you removed the check ball(s), and played around too much, or purposely put it in gear. The correct solution would have been to pound out the fork retaining pins and then you're free to mess around with the rod(s).

I've been having some misfiring issues on my z31, at first it refused to rev properly, changed fuel pump and worked but still misfired and sounded like 1:38, after changing the fuel filter (it was almost completly clogged) it ran much better but still has a misfire, I'm thinking next it to take apart the injectors and get them cleaned. (new plugs installed before I changed the fuel pump)
@wheels0873Ай бұрын
I made the same mistake! I put regular power steering fluid in mine and I ended up rebuilding my own rack with new seals. I have the seals for the pump but I'm going to watch this vid first. My pump still seems ok so far though.

@TheZGarageАй бұрын
I really like it. I think it works very well and is a comprehensive kit. It's really helped cool down my car and I haven't had any issues with leaking or anything. I would definitely get something to sheath it to prevent wear on the lines but that's the only addition you really need.

Nicely presented! Very informative. The adjustment for rotating the distributor looked to be fairly limited. Are there situations where you need to adjust it more than what that slot allows and if so how is it done? Just curious. Thanks for the vid!
@TheZGarageАй бұрын
If the distributor can't rotate enough to get to the spot you need, then you physically remove the distributor. It typically is a gear driven by the cam shaft. And you spin it to the next tooth and then set it back into the engine. If it's off by more than 1 tooth it probably wouldn't run
@tmo2798Ай бұрын
Super nice! I thought it was the gasket that was leaking, but it had oil on the SIDE; that's the seal. Wow. I'm glad I watched this video! Thanks so much.

Any videos on how to actually twist all those wires together?
@1lowz634Ай бұрын
When I wrecked mine as I was building it I had done the dampener delete with the new braided line that goes straight from the master cylinder to the transmission then I had the lightweight fidanza flywheel it was actually pretty thick too I 🤔 thought I had some kind of nice clutch I don't remember what it was I still have my nistune type 1 e c u and the turbo computer for it that it was programmed to I still got quite a few things the crossmember that goes under the car that allows the turbo to go under like a stock turbo the Paul net allnett fuel rails like you told me to get and the 550cc injectors I believe it was hell I've still got the turbo and the blow off valve and all the stuff you picked out for me you picked me out a lot of stuff and I ordered it I was doing other stuff with the suspension and differential mounts and body mounts and shifter and clutch many other things it was very nice I just didn't get to finish it there's some really nice videos of it and the parts that I had that they were laying on the bed the video says a sneak peek at some of my goodies that's all the stuff I ordered that you sent me
@christopherevans7580Ай бұрын
I've also done a dampener delete/braided conversion. I don't know why Nissan added the extra complexity with the dampener, my z31 has the smoothest clutch of all manuals I've driven. Maybe I'm just biased since I learned to drive stick on it.
