UPDATE on my Ring Floodlight. Got off the phone with customer service and my floodlight cam is NOW functioning properly. A few tips for ppl on what i encountered. If it is placed on anything metal, you will definitely need the chime pro. Also, my chime pro had to be as close to the cam as possible to get it to work properly. You can try both, but it would not work when i had it half way between the router and cam. Installed on metal could have had that effect on it as well with the chime needing to be close. Last tip, if you are trying to set up install and your light will not blink, but just remains solid, even after pressing the button at the top and also resetting by holding down the button for 15 seconds. Turn your light switch on and off and it somehow resets it to where it will blink again. That one i figured out myself after being on hold with the Rep while she was trying to figure out why it now would not blink or reset. I just turned the light switch on and off and it worked again. That was it, works like a charm now and no more black screens. I will say this, their customer service was amazing and worked hard trying to help me.

Hi there. Great question. To install the Ring Floodlight Cam, we recommend utilizing a 4-inch wide junction box to house the wiring. However, if no junction box is installed in your home, you can install the device directly to the wall if necessary. You can find more information regarding this here: ring.com/support/articles/b2io6/Installing-Your-Floodlight-Cam. Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We're here to help.

This is a good overview of what the installation is like, but misleading in the effort actually needed. Best case scenario, you're replacing an existing light system with wires and a pocket behind the light already. This means you can truly do it like they do it in the video, connect the wires and voila, you're done. But if you're installing this into the face of your house with no pre-work done...expect a lot of prep work from cutting holes to splicing wires. Additionally, the wires from the system HAVE TO have enough room to feed into some space...there's not enough space behind the floodlight to squeeze the thing closed, especially with how little thread they give you to close it. If you need to do pre-work, expect many hours depending on whether you pay for it to be sourced or DIY

My ring doorbell, ring chime and stick up cam were installed and set up successfully. I’ve resetted the flood, temporarily paused the 5GHz band, resetted my WiFi network and placed 1 out of 3 EERO mesh system routers close to the flood cam and no luck. I have an excellent Mesh system that covers up to 5k sq ft. All other electronic devices have no issues. I’d appreciate any input.

Absolutely! After setting up the motion zones on your Ring app, Ring will send a notification to all connected phones every time motion is detected in the selected zone(s). This notification is sent immediately.
