Can the floodlight be installed on a horizontal surface? I have some existing lights I want to replace but they're mounted on recessed boxes "facing down."

Can you set the motion detection to only turn the lights on after dusk? I would be installing to a box connected to a lightswitch inside and plan to keep the switch on all the time, but don't want the lights on all the time.

Hey neighbor! We would recommend hooking up the Floodlight Wired to a junction box that is not controlled by a light switch. Turning off the light switch will shut off power going to the Smart Light. Let us know if you have any more questions!

I already have the doorbell 2 and spotlight cam . I bought 2 floodlight cams to replace existing normal floodlights . Now this video is telling me I also have to buy a Ring Bridge for these to work ???

I would expect that circuit has a switch to turn the lights on/off. If the switch is off your light will not be receiving power from the wires.

How long does these last? If they go out can you change the lights or do you have to buy a whole new light fixture

Great question, Rudy. The LEDs will last for tens of thousands of hours (on the order of 20 years) before burning out. If the time comes that they do burn out, they are not removable and the device will need to be replaced.

Hi Miguel! Yes, the Floodlight Wired would require the Ring App in order to adjust any settings and review event history. However, you won't need to utilize the Ring App once everything is set to your preference. You can just let the Smart Lights do their job and watch your yard light up!

Having a house built and they offer pre-wiring for flood lights and want to use two of the Ring Floodlights (wired). The only option is to have this done with a switch installed intended for turning the lights on and off. Will this cause an issue or is this just the standard setup? If the switch was turned on, would the lights stay on until the switch is off? Could you have the switch in the on or off position and still control it from the app?

Hey Scott, great questions! When connected to wiring that is controlled by a switch, the switch must remain on in order to ensure power is getting to the Floodlight Wired. @@ring actually without the serial number you wont , and i am not going to climb to the second floor of my house .disassemble the light reassemble it turn power on and off because you wont send me a screw. terrible customer service

do you need the Ring Bridge if you don't care about the front door Ring and back driveway Ring interacting with each other? I would just like them both in the Ring app but they can be independent, since they're in totally different areas fencing and property-wise. I don't need them to talk to the Echo or the TV or anything lol.
