Installing Roll-Up Porch Shades

We installed roll-up porch shades on our front porch - and oh, the nice difference they have made. We wrote about them and other options here: www.front-porch-ideas-and-more...
Our shades filter the light but don't block our view (or the breezes) completely. Since our porch faces the hot afternoon sun, we love being able to put these down in the afternoons. Makes a big difference on our porch and the front of our home.

What was the brand of roller shades you used? We've been looking for something similar for our front porch. Thanks for sharing.

I believe they are coolaroo shades, Janet. We found them on Amazon.Just search for cordless coolaroo porch shades and you should find them. Thank you for watching our video. And we do love our shades. They help tremendously.

Our patio cover has a 1/2" pitch. Any ideas how to compensate for pitch if we're installing on the sides of the patio cover, as opposed to the front?

Thanks for watching our video about our roll-up porch shades. Dave suggests that you attach a block of wood to your patio on the high side. He suggests pre-drilling a hole where you'd attach to your patio wood wood to the patio cover on the high side - that extends down to the place where the shade needs to go.
