Thanks for going over the alternative of not having a table saw, or for me being intimated to make the grove cut and using the 2 pcs of word. Wish you would have gone over on cutting the corners to make the frame fit together. I was happy you have pictures on your website -- that helped.

Looks fantastic! We are working on one right now at the beginning stages. We have a sidewalk that curves on one side of front porch but there was never one made on the other side of main sidewalk. I used heavy plastic to make a pattern for other side to mirror it. Just hoping to find some gray colored pea gravel.

Hi. I’m so glad I found you! The metal in my chairs have rust. Do I need to sand first? Or treat the rust prior to painting?
@FrontPorchIdeas
@FrontPorchIdeas Жыл бұрын
It's always a good idea to remove as much rust as you can. You could use a metal brush to get much of it, then use a lint-free rag to thoroughly clean it. You won't regret prepping the surface first, in our opinion.

These are lucky birds! 👌🏼🤩 I'd fear one of my squirrels would climb the wire, pull the device and burn itself! Never seen this device before and our winters are really cold in Québec! It's certainly useful in the countryside away from the grey squirrels.

The device doesn’t get hot. It keep the water from freezing through ionization, I am pretty sure.

Ours is right near our house so we use an outdoor extension cord that we put through a PVC pipe underground. Possibly there is a solar-powered version, but we haven't seen any yet.

What the purpose of removing the sod? Could you just lay the landscaping fabric over it?
@FrontPorchIdeas

We removed the sod to create a nice, flat foundation for our walkway. Otherwise, it would be rather uneven to walk on. Thanks so much for watching our video.

I would love this . But I have a brick home, don’t know how to add one. Without drilling holes in the brick.
@FrontPorchIdeas
@FrontPorchIdeas 2 жыл бұрын
We'd recommend hiring an experienced contractor. Usually a ledger board is attached to your house (through the brick) and it is flashed to keep water out. Hope that helps. Many brick homes have porches so try not to let that discourage you from having one.

Hi. I went to your link/site and listened to the podcast interview with the manager of this company. He said to wash the polyvinyl with only mild soap and water, no ammonia or bleach. This made me think of the type of mold we get on our house siding, especially on northern exposures. Bleach is the only thing we've found which will work on this problem. So I'm concerned about washing the windows.
@FrontPorchIdeas
@FrontPorchIdeas 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching our video and listening to the podcast too. We don't personally have these windows but would recommend adhering to what the company says in regards to how to care for them. Like you, we get mold on our house siding, especially the north facing areas, as you say. But in our experience, we found that soap and warm water on a sponge is very effective in removing it. We cleaned the whole back of our home this summer using that method and it looks fresh and new. So maybe that would also be quite effective on these types of windows? Maybe the type of dirt / mold we get is different from your home, but I think what I would do is see if you can be referred to people who live in your area and have these windows. Ask them about their experience in cleaning them. We like clean windows too so I appreciate your thoughts. Thank you!

Thank you for this. It's not what I was looking for, but it did help me come up with the right idea. I'm securing a flag to a T-post. The grommets make the side easy, but the top is more difficult. I don't wanna put holes in the flag, but using a clamp might just work
