Installing Sena Intercom and Pinlock visor on Shoei Neotec 3

People must understand that different helmet brands different head templates. Schubert for my head presses my head. Shoei fits perfectly. For other people Schubert works just fine. Try them. Cheers.

I just did mine yesterday. +1 on the cheek pad installation. Not bad by themselves, but if you're adding the SRL, the wiring gets in the way.

I've ran into an issue after installing a cardo packtalk edge on my neotec 3 where the back pin on the left cheek pad just won't click into place and comes out effortlessly. the one on the right side clicks in fine and is strong but the left has that problem. anyone else?

I do like the Shoei neotech3 and the Comms...but I only bought a neotech2 and Comms last year so it will be many years hopefully till I need a new helmet again. Great video tho guys. Thankyou both.

Funny it was a bit of a fiddle but I fitted my Cardo 4x comms to my neotec 3 along with the pin loc with no prob I think I had to make a little cut in the plastic surround to allow connections from the cardo unit to fit into phone, mike cables

I wish you have good lighting and different angle for the top camera. Since the helmet is black and the parts are black. It is hard to notice the work that you guys did. Otherwise brilliant video and very much helpful. Kudos to the efforts 👍

I bought the Neotec 3 recently and was very happy with the helmet. Unfortunately after removing an refitting the visor the function of the visor opening changed. Before after pressing the center button it opened a little exactly like your helmet in the video. Now it does not really open and you have to pull more on the visor, which is annoying. Does your visor still open smoothly like in the video? Sorry for the off topic comment, but I really want to know what could be wrong.

The shop also removed and refitted the visor and still the same problem.

@@Petrolhead1251 I removed the visor once and have no problem. It still opens and closes normally. Have you installed a Pinlock? Could it be that it's not in place? And havent you damaged the release system on the side? Do you know you have to Pull the visor slightly to the front to release and attach it?

Hi Stefan. Thanks! I have to be honoust that I can't compair the SRL2 and 3. I had the SMH10-R before and compared to that system, the SLR3 is a league of it's own. The Harman Kardon speakers do such an amazing job it's unbelievable! It's so crisp, so clear, so '3D' sounding. I have no sound issues what so ever and I am a pretty 'Audiofile' I can say... Hope this helps in your question!

I’m curious, you said you have a medium Neotec 3. How many centimeters around is your head? Mine is 59 centimeters or 23.25 inches. That puts me halfway btwn a medium & large

I have the same helmet. I am right on the line small/medium according to Shoie sizing chart. Have been using medium for my Shoei helmets for years but I tried on a small with the neotech 3 and it fits perfectly.

One question to both of you. After many years of wearing Shoei (GT Air and Neotec II) I went for a change to Schuberth C5, which I regret. (I'm selling it) The question: Are the newly built Neotec II, ECE 20.06 and/or Snell M2020R ? If is sold in USA then is DOT (poor test). Can you extend the info? Thank you. PS: To me Neotec III is not as practical as the Neo II

The Shoei Neotec II is certified under ECE 22.05, which is the European safety standard. - In the United States, it meets DOT (Department of Transportation) standards. The DOT standard is often considered less rigorous than ECE 22.05. - The Neotec III, which is an update from Neotec II, is likely to follow similar certification patterns. It's designed to meet ECE 22.06, which is the updated European standard. However, the availability and certification specifics in different regions, including the USA, may vary and could include DOT certification for the US market. The ECE 22.06 standard is indeed an upgrade and offers more stringent testing compared to ECE 22.05 and DOT standards. However, for the exact certifications of newly built models, you should verify with Shoei. Hope this helps.

Before you buy a Neotec 3 check the availability of parts. Can't find a Pinlock insert without buying a visor for £85, and guess what, the Neotec 2 inserts won't fit!!

@@ckholiness Haven't heard that yet... Can't imagine. But, the pinlock is very easy to undo/redo in het vizer so... If you don't want to take the risk, just take it out. You won't really need it in warm weather conditions I recon. But... If it starts raining all of a sudden, you wish you would have left it in...

Built-in intercoms are not a plus. Nobody of my riders use that, we all recycle our previous com system and stick it on. Locking you into a proprietary fit is just bad use of your money.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I totally get where you're coming from. Many riders do prefer using their existing systems, but for me, the built-in new high quality intercom offers a cleaner and more integrated look and sound. Plus, I found that it streamlines the setup process and feels as one with the helmet. In the end, it's all about what works best for each rider!
