Nice Video, thanks! My step is not tight at all, and tightening the Bolts doesn't help ... Is there something else between the Bolt / Washer / Step ? Some kind of tube going through?

No, but is it possible that you overtightened the bolts and stripped the holes? Maybe you need to find slightly larger bolts…

I call them “Side Holsters” and made them myself! Simple L bracket that uses the existing bolts!

Here’s what I do with stubborn bolts: spray WD-40 (or similar) in the crack. Let it sit/soak for 5 min. Then Tap it with a hammer or wrench to help the WD-40 work it’s way in further. Then put a heat gun on it, heat it up for a few min. Re-apply WD-40 and tap. Repeat two or three times, THEN try loosening the bolt. Don’t strip it! If it doesn’t come right away, start over again. WD-40, heat, tap, WD-40, heat, tap. Over and over. I promise it will loosen!

I think they are meant to be installed while the doors are off the Jeep.... I mean would make it a lot easier as well as you wouldn’t misalign the holes.

No, if you did that there is a chance the pins would not align perfectly and your door seals could be messed up. Smittybilt’s instructions (which I actually read before rolling up and shoving in the crack) were very specific about that. Have you done these? Did it it work with the doors off? Any issues?

@@1111Overland that makes more sense then. I have not installed them. I was actually looking at the video and was saying “man wouldn’t it be easier to just take the doors off and do that.”
