Installing Soldered PL-259's

Bill (WA0CBW) teaches me how to install a soldered PL-259 onto a length of RG8X coaxial cable. This was my second attempt. On the first attempt, I got some solder in the threads of the adapter and we could not clean it out.

I am good at so many things in life. I can't even begin to tell you, but God keeps me humble by keeping me pretty bad at soldering. But each of my connectors seems to be getting better and better. I might be getting the hang of this, albeit slowly.

What kind of ends do you buy? Amphenol?

@@radiostationad0im307 I learned a long time ago to buy Amphenol connectors (preferably silver plated) and file ANY nickel plating away exposing the base metal underneath!
