Installing spacers to shorten Inverted KYB Forks to fit them to 2022 Royal Enfield Himalayan

Setting up a set of inverted forks to mount on my 2022 Royal Enfield Himalayan that were originally installed on a 2007 Kawasaki KLX250/300. For some reason I mention that the spacers are 5/8s when actually they were 1" each for a total drop of 2"s.

Dumb question. Why not install softer springs and leave the travel the same?

The Himalayan is about 140lbs heavier than the KLX also I’m 200ish lbs so even the stock KLX springs would be too soft. The stock KLX length would have been four inches longer than the Himalayan forks. With soft springs setup for four inches of sag they would have bottomed out just hitting a small pothole. I’m already bottoming the stock Himalayan forks so that just would not have worked at all.
