Installing Subway Tile as Kitchen Backsplash

DIY: modernizing my kitchen by installing white subway tile as backsplash. All materials were purchased at Floor & Decor.

He would have to repaint or tile to the edge of the counter to cover where the granite was.

@@Young_Star that’s the whole idea. Tile to the actual countertop is the way to go. I’ll be doing it so in my kitchen, but to each his own.

@KevinsHeaven I was replying to someone that looks like they deleted their comment. They were asking why he didn't remove the existing granite backslash. He ended his tile at the edge of the cabinet. Most don't want to tile past the cabinets and have a top edge of the backsplash sticking out.

With the tape over the old phone outlet, the tile over that tape is compromised as it's partly stuck to the wall with tape. But it's just a backsplash. 😉

So putting the adhesive on the tiles and not the wall is fine people were always telling me im doing it wrong it will fall off cause i so love doing it that way tank you.

Depends on what other contractors are charging and what your skill level is.

why don't you use tile cutter to score the lines when you cut the sockets out so much easier for the grinder blade to cut👍 don't need to do loads of cut once you've cut Eva side of the line just use a pair of snips to snap it off little trip 👍

Covering a receptacle box like that is against code almost anywhere. And why reduce the number of plugs? To save 15 minutes of tile cutting work? Makes no sense.

Looks like a fake video. Obviously, you can't screw into a tile to fit the electric face plate.

Plus, putting spread on a tile is a waste of time, when you could be putting it on the wall.
