If there is one lesson than can be learned from your build videos is that K.I.S.S. is your best chance for success and reliability.

There is a lesson there but there also have been knowledge gained from failures as well. This entire build has been a HUGE learning exercise, this is my first major venture into building a vehicle that doesn't include just bolt on mods. I knew early on that I was going against the grain but I'm also to the point now where I want it done and I'm building it to where I will be happy with the TJ.

You're making progress! This winter my son and I are going to TDI swap his TJ. I already have an ALH that we could use but we may look into a CJAA swap. He has a CJAA in his Jetta that's tuned and deleted and runs really good.

I don't know how many people have swapped in the CJAA, the ALH is a well known, well tuned and well supported in the aftermarket engine. I've got super custom many times in this build and I have learned the value of going with parts that are well supported in the aftermarket. I'm not telling you to not use the CJAA, I just haven't looked into that much, I just know the ALH has been swapped into several vehicles.

@@RustyAutoholicGuy No, you are correct the ALH would make the most sense with it being less complicated and more support. I also have 3 BRM's and love that PD engine as well. Coty Built does have parts and support and have done CJAA's but I don't know of any others. I guess it will have to be decided at some point.

Sorry didn't catch up on all your videos. Was there any ownership update on the diesel Smart?
