Quick safety tip for those who may not know. If you are wiring 110v AC do not do it with any power source to it. The lights she wired are 12v they are safe to wire while love thy won’t shock you. 110v is dangerous and can lead to serious harm.

Lol very true. If the wire is hot, you will get zapped and its not a nice tickle.

Did you guys use a moister barrier under the foam between the metal of your bus and your buikd material? I didn't at first but took my build apart and added a vapor barrier. How necessary is it to have one and why if you didn't use one didn't you. If not would you have done it before installing your lights etc?
@BackroadPurpose
@BackroadPurpose 3 жыл бұрын
I believe the reason we did not was because the climate and temperatures we will be in with the humidity will not be drastic enough to cause moisture. As in, our bus will not be in 100degree temperature and 60 degrees inside, with high humidity level. and we use diesel to heat our bus which is a dry heat that will not build up condensation.

@BackroadPurpose
@BackroadPurpose 4 жыл бұрын
I did. It sits inside a spindle on the top and bottom and the bottom spindle was bent so it sagged a bit and could not bend it back and the door was a bit to heavy to just put a washer to hold it up higher so I trimmed part of the bottom and now it sits flush.

That ceiling looks AWESOME! Holy smokes! The lights... Whoa! Cool to hear the lumens and amp draw (super promising not to be a big drain on your electrical system). We were thinking of doing the plywood ceiling, but then got our hands on some other stuff we'll be putting up. However, we do love the look of the plywood! Good placement on the lights. Are they about 3' apart? Or what's the spacing on those? Looks like there is a nice spread of light with no dark in-between spots. Do y'all have a link for the light pucks you're using? Send it to us! Keep rocking it, y'all! - Brian + Erin

Hey! thank you so much for watching again. yeah I like knowing the specs of this stuff myself so I think it's good to share all of that random info. It all matters a lot in these builds. Installing the ceiling is a pain but definitely doable. We went with the plywood just because we're not fans of the plank boards and not a fan of the OEM Ceiling. Plus each sheet is only like $13. and yes. they are 30" apart and 16" from the top of the window. the Kitchen lights are a little further apart buttt yeah. The kit comes with 6 lights that feed into an adapter so it makes it simple. We used 5 for the living room and 4 for the kitchen and plan on splicing 2 together for the hallway and then 1 for the bathroom. amzn.to/2UUAVJp this is what we got!

@@BackroadPurpose Thanks for the light link and for those dimensions! One thing we were thinking about lighting is that the flood from the light needs to cross each other so that there's even light. Looks like 30" spacing did that nicely on yours! Definitely like that they are dimmable. We should be hitting up designing our electrical layout soon, and the link for these lights are going on the list! Thanks so much! - Brian + Erin

@@BackroadPurpose The cheapest I can find from Home Depot is the utility panel which costs about $20. Was that the one you used? I wish Lowes carry 1/8 boards...
