This is such a fantastic upgrade for any chicken keeper! The Chickozy automatic door looks easy to install and super reliable. It’s great to see how smoothly it operates and how it makes life more convenient for both the chickens and their humans. Thanks for the detailed walkthrough-this will definitely help others looking to automate their coop setup!

Thanks for watching! I really like it so far, the only suggestion I had for them was to make the yellow buttons black because the chickens like the bright colors and keep pecking at them. :-)

Awesome product. Looks great, I it seems quiet and such. Glad they reached out to you to review it. I guess as long as you don't have any super huge chickens 😁🤣😂 you shouldn't ever have a problem with them fitting through there!

Go with FarmLite, we're the only American based Homesteading brand. We back our product forever and I personally will call you if you ever have issues. We're based out of FL and are homesteaders ourselves. Chicoop and all these other brands of doors are all Chinese based companies, good luck if you have issues down the road! I've seen dozens of these companies pop up and gone within a few months. Hopefully they don't leave customers out to dry if there are issues like alot of the other Chinese sellers do.

After reading this, I went to look for reviews for FarmLite, couldn't find any. Went to the website and their product information was very vague. Jumped over to Amazon to read reviews and I have to say, I was very disappointed. Trust me when I say, I would much rather buy an American made product but, American's seem to have lost their will to compete. I would pay a little more for an American made product, if it actually worked better, reviews don't seem to reflect that. Disappointed. I'm still looking for the best auto door. I tend to over think everything and read reviews constantly. I will always begin with the one star reviews and go from there. Too many one star complaints and I move on.

@@2bothofus same here, I would love to promote American products! These days I do the same thing, check reviews before I buy something. I had to make a few minor adjustments but so far this door has been good.

@@2bothofus To add to your point. I know at least 8 of my "1 star reviews" are from a competitor(orders in NYC, LA, etc with fake names not matching the review and return reason being "item never arrived" to "un-wanted item"). I submitted the evidence to Amazon and they basically told me to kick rocks. I will share this information with you if you email me via my site. Also to add to it, I'm not sure what else you're looking for in regards to information on my website? I have an entire page dedicated to describing all of the settings and features.

@@FarmLiteUSA Thanks for the reply. I was wondering though, why you didn't reply to the owner of this channel when he offered to test and do a video on your door? You answered me, right away. Weird, when you advertised on his channel. Not sure when the last time you checked with Amazon and your reviews, but the one's you mentioned above are not what I'm seeing. Anyway, I am not set on a door, yet. Like I said, just searching for reviews. Almost finished with the coop. 😬 @Maynardfamilyhomestead So, thanks you guys! Appreciate people willing to put in the effort, for those of us searching for the perfect auto. door. (If there is one! 😉)

Only bad thing about this is as soon as your bedding get in the door opening it will stay open, I got one and had so much trouble with the bedding we were having to clean the doorway out every few days.
@MaynardFamilyHomestead

You are 100% correct. It wasn’t long before we had shavings hung in the track. I ended up revising the way I have it installed which I showed in another video and now it works flawlessly. I basically put the 2 x 4 underneath it instead of over the top of it to raise it up 3 1/2 inches from the floor.

Yeah I’m not sure but I always assumed that it was intended for it to instal it a bit raised from the ground as chickens will step over the edge and don’t have to crawl through the door... it’s easier for them to lift their feet then to duck down and crawl...

How is the door doing? I've tried a few and keep having issues. It seems like one company is (cheaply) manufacturing all of these doors and selling to retailers with the retailers named stamped on them. I've tried three and I had a gear strip and two units would constantly get jammed when some mud or chicken poop from their feet got caught in the tracks.
@MaynardFamilyHomestead
@MaynardFamilyHomestead 2 жыл бұрын
I had to modify the way it was mounted but now it works fine. Originally I had it down touching the floor and it kept getting clogged up with pine shavings and chicken poop. I then added a 2 x 4 underneath it and it worked much better, only clogs up once a month or so. I recently moved it outside so the rain can wash it off just in case poop gets trapped in there.

$180 for a plastic door is overpriced when you can get others for less with better materials
@MaynardFamilyHomestead
@MaynardFamilyHomestead Жыл бұрын
I get it being plastic, but I have actually tested aluminum doors that were supposed to be far superior and would never open and close on time. They also don’t have the safety feature that makes the door open back up. They just stop and place with a lot of resistance, but don’t open again. it doesn’t matter what it’s made from if it doesn’t work properly.

This Product is completely useless and should've been recalled long ago! It'll seize operation as soon as one piece of straw, bedding, etc. ends up between the Door, tricking the anti-pinch safety into thinking it's closing on an animal and opening back up again... Repeat until out of battery 🤦🏽‍♂️ Manufacturer would've realized this had they actually tested their own product before any large scale production, instead of screwing over their customers now! They should legally be held responsible for any damages (eg. predators killing lifestock being outside due to door not closing at programmed times) caused by their product failing to do the advertised task within the manufacturer's intended environment if used for its intended purpose! 😠 Solution would've been easy: 1. Operating sliding door vertically (up/down) 2. Door closing down from own weight (-> animal not pinched by any actuator's force)

Is your chicken coop fortified against raids like coyotes and foxes who will prey on them and their eggs?
@MaynardFamilyHomestead
@MaynardFamilyHomestead 2 жыл бұрын
Yes it is! We have a lot of coyotes and raccoons in our area, so we built it very strong. It’s basically built like the house.

@@MaynardFamilyHomestead That’s intriguing. Here’s some insight about raccoons 🦝. They are intelligent animals that could problem-solve, which includes infiltrating your home that you don’t want them to in the first place. They will do anything to get food all in the name of survival. They could open garbage bins, but also cause collateral damage to your house, nesting there with damaged insulation and walls, chewed wires and cables.

Piece of crap, don't buy! The smallest of shavings will prevent the door from opening or closing. Now that we are getting snow, that blocks it too. Save your money and buy something else.
