Great video! I haven't seen this one before. I wanted to point out that you can just keep pushing the menu button to go past the places where you program the open and close points. No need to reprogram those unless you get an E4 error. Thanks again!

Looks like a chicken guard. I have one and you don't have to adjust the open and close every time you adjust a setting. Could be a new model I suppose though

There were a couple of times this winter where in was froze closed and that created an error that stopped it temporarily, but aside from that it has been working flawlessly.

A few tips! Put a wooden ledge at the bottom of your chicken door in the event that it gets stuck, the locking mechanism will engage before the door goes all the way down, the wooden ledge will cover a would-be gap if that happens.

Second tip, a 3 inch PVC pipe with a few fittings makes a great feeder and the longer the pipe the greater the capacity

I have nesting boxes outside of the coop. A good diet is necessary for good egg production

Because your door is raised and lowered by a string, ... can it simply be lifted up by a predator?

When the string pulls the door up it first pulls in the locking tabs. The predator would need to pull the string in order to unlock it. It is possible but not likely.

Raccoons unlocked the doors on our coop and killed 5 chickens one night. It was a slide bolt. They could easily pull up a string although they might try chewing through it first. They also will work together.

Talk about the rooster crowing funny. When I started raising chickens, I learned that young roosters learn to crow. And their learning process is absolutely hilarious!!!! Some of the noises that come out of them. Had 1 rooster that would run out of lung and fall over from trying to crow. It's a hoot.
