Square corner toward load. Got it. Learning! Reinstalling that gearbox went very well! I have the same problem with my tools wandering off.

@@manfromthemist1958 YES! new app idea! Something like apple airtags but for tools! makes an annoying chirping sound when you press a button. 😁🤣

Cracking video looks like it took longer to take things out the garage and put back again than put the gearbox back in situ. I'm glad you went through the gearbox you got 100% peace of mind now means you got to do a weekly yarns which I will look forward to

Hi Jon, as you say it took longer to prepare than to execute, then it took a little over 4 hours to edit the video, taking the axle off was the way to go many thanks Barry

once i get the final drives done I'll need somewhere to park it as it won't fit in the garage with them on. bummer.

Hi Barry I did exactly the same as you with that felt seal. I couldn’t see it either. Looked at about three times. Was only when I prodded it with a screwdriver I realised where it was.

Excellent video, as always! I know the feeling of tools getting lost. It's very frustrating - I don't want to spend time looking for some tool I was using 30 seconds ago. And more important - there is noone else to blame. 😊

Hi Oyvind, I'm always suprised as to how easy it is to lose tools more so when they're large and you think it would be obvious as to there where abouts, I put it down to old age and not wearing my glasses, Debs thinks it hilarious, many thanks for your continued support Barry

Well you as in me learn something new every day. Did not know that about snap rings/circlips. Question if that muff shaft is to long or to short what then? M 😀
@manfromthemist1958
@manfromthemist1958 Жыл бұрын
Morning Mashall, the muff shaft, if it's too short you can place more shims between it and the gearbox bearing to give the correct free play at the other end, i would think if you use the shaft that was manufactured for the box I don't think you'll get one thats to long, not sure if the 12 speed and the crawler boxes have different length shafts or not. Many thanks for watching. Barry

Good afternoon Barry, I see those very nice supports on your film. I'd like to make that too. Do you perhaps have the dimensions etc. and some pictures for me. Sincerely, Marco Polet

Hi Marco, if you pop back and watch the weekly yarns 17 I've got them in there, I just mage them up from some bits I bought and scrap we had at the farm, the casters I bought second hand from a local guy, if the weather improves here over the next few days I'll grab some measurements and pop them in my next yarn. many thanks Barry

Really enjoying your videos here in the USA....I have a '66 vintage 990 of my own to do.....just curious though, what pre-lube grease do you use? Is it a low temp, oil soluble one that won't affect the hydraulics? Thanks much, keep up the great work!
@manfromthemist1958

Hi Jeff many thanks for watching, my pre lude grease of choice is just good old EP2 a really nice thick grease that sticks even when handled, as for later in life I've never had any trouble with the grease not disolving into the oil once warm, I've had more problems from oil coated parts loosing protection and turning rusty again. many thanks for your support Barry
