Short early swing axle? The centering arms in front gonna help. I would prefer less narrowed beam but to each his own. Awesome wheels

Yeah, early/short axle/swing axle. Front extended uppers and lowers will deff make a huge difference centering the front wheels in the wheel well. Narrow beam is function as much as it is looks.. you can get full lock-to-lock turning without hitting the fenders on a slammed bug. Without narrowed beam you'll hit the fenders.

Yes, it opens and closes. I installed it. I'll be doing the rear oval window the same way in a future episode.

Yeah I can do an episode on how steel wheels are assembled. I build both welded 2-Piece wheels and Wire wheels. Both use many of the same basic parts so I will combine it into one episode. I will not show welding or truing as I have built most of my own jigs and tooling over the years that allow me to build certain wheels that my competitors cannot 😁

The squat and overall diameter was the same with 15" vs 17" 💩😆 I showed the wheels side by side; same height. All depends on if you want bubble gum tires or skinnies.

With an oval window and semaphores, it's more likely to be a '53 than a '63. The hood and fenders are likely be '60s parts. Maybe it's on a '63 frame? The body has got to be within '53 (first oval window) and '55 (final semaphores). Edit: Also, a period correct "W" decklid for early 50s.

Are you able to narrow a 17"x7" wide BRM?

Sorry, I only do steel wheels from 13" to 18" because I only know how to weld on steel alloy metal, and not aluminum or stainless. The wheel diameters because I have jigs for those diameters.

Both are setup for 64 and earlier bug/beetle. I don't really use offset as I use back space when building. All tires sizes are in the description area in my videos with links on where to buy for the lowest prices.
