I share your passion for VW BUGS.... SUCH POTENTIAL, BECAUSE THE ROUNDED SHAPE IS WHAT DESIGNERS BEGIN WITH WHEN BEGINING A DESIGN... BASIC... ROUND PREPARING FOR REFINING ... I ESPECIALLY LOVE HOW YOU EXTENDED THE HOOD TO act as the whole top of front clip.... And ATHOSE HEAD LITES ACCENTUATE THE CLEANLINESS OF THE HOOD... ABSOLUTELY a BEAUTIFULL USE OF CLEAN SPANS OF STEEL... LIKE THE HOOD

1st. Thing I want to say is, You Sir Are The Master of Full Custom Auto No Second To Anyone I've Seen Ever PERIOD!!! Anyways, I probably had & have been trying to catch up on the VW Bug you were starting on after selling your Blue Bug to The Haywards from Canada, I wondered if it was ever finished along with the Henry J Pro Street which by the way One Bad A$$ Looking Ride..though I really wanted to see the episode on the VW Bug(it seems that was your vision too ie; Pro Street VW Bug). It is and still is an episode..I haven't seen, please let me know that it's available to watch or in the process of completion..Thank You, Master Ian Sir!!!.

Karmann is located in Osnabrück, Germany. They were specialized in convertibles. Their first was however the Ghia. Later the beetle convertible and also for BMW. I used to live in that area.

Great video, I've been around bugs since the 70's and its always nice to see one tricked out. Great work. How did you get it back onto the floor pan? Was there much modification needed with the narrowing of the body? Did you make a video of that part? Again great job!!!! Bug On....

i have a 63 that needs some work but has a new pan then i have a 74 runs and drives also have a 72 bus trans axle with a 1600 doula port engine few new parts like electronic disruptor all are rust free selling all for 2500. i am more into chevys and fords but it was fun having baja bugs to drive around on the dirt roads i live by

I like the way Ian talks & tells what he is doing … sounds a lot like the Teutels from American Chopper, but a bunch much smarter. Great work Ian. PS: I once had a 1974 VW Beetle.

I wonder when we can see how this second Bug is built until it is finished, I have searched for the continuation of this Customizing on KZbin and I have not been able to see how that narrower body fits on the original chassis of a VW Bug. Does anyone know if there is a continuation of this second modified Bug? It is the best way I have seen to cut a Bug and I would like to follow the steps to chop my Bug. I follow Ian's personal KZbin channel and he doesn't have these videos.

I have a difficult time with when these cars get built. It seems like they are also at different shops. Sometimes it shows he has multiple cars under construction. Do you burn out on one and go back to it later? I wish I knew what this couple paid for the bug and what they expect to put into the Henry J.

I wish you wouldnt show any clips at all of even the working concept stage of design, much less towards the finished product..were all here because we know hes one of the best theres ever been and we dont need a teaser to stick around or be convinced what he makes will be legendary

Thats bitchin' they've built these in the UK and Europe using stretched front axle from a ford. Try and build one with a Bellamy Split front axle. Now that would be bitchin', in white, red ford wires or even some rare allard rims, and tuning parts from EMPI and Speedwell UK BRM alloys. Could you imagine a proper surf rod, two single seats, one behind the other and the the rear converted into a hatch front engined, say a 3cyl gti UP!!!. And the boards slide in next to the driver, the suits and stuff down the passenger side. Pale go man go colour from mopar and replica or real cookies or gas burners or speedwell brm rims. You did a Bellamy Split without realising it.
