If you add a Walmart ten dollar portable USB charger battery brick 8000 mAh using your same USB wall plug it will give your system power when power goes out and keep it on guard for threats even if your internet is out then the camera will still record video for later review. Criminals will cut power to security systems to disable them but with a battery backup in the loop your camera will keep working. Just an FYI . I have all of my Eufy Cam pan and tilt cameras on battery backup , it’s cheap and works.

Curious - do you need a separate bridge to get this to work with HK - or will a HomePod mini work as the only hub?

The 2k Pan and Tilt acts as a 'bridge' that you join to HomeKit when you want to add it. You need the Apple TV or the HomePod Mini as a hub if you want to stream video while outside the house.

Remove it from Homekit, set up motion tracking in the eufy app, then connect back to homekit again. It will continue to motion track but it will only be connected and record to your iCloud from Homekit (and if you have a MicroSD for local storage)

Can It be done like that ? I’ve had it outside for a year now without any problem, but due to the possibility to make activity zones is missing when connected to HomeKit I’ve haven’t tried to use Motion Tracking

I think with most Eufy cameras, you will want to install the Eufy app first. This one shows as a ‘bridge’ in homekit, so I used the Eufy app to get it on the network first.

The power cord looks ridiculous. Great product but when mounting to the ceiling something has to be done to hide the power cord, likely involving an electrician. I’m looking for ideas. Can’t simply have a cord dangling or even pinned to the wall, that’s WAY too ugly.

DO NOT BUY. I bought 4 for indoor use while I’m travelling. One small power cut and the cameras all fail to reconnect to the wifi so they are totally useless now.
