Glad you posted this video. Im definitely not going that route now. Im also glad you didn't burst into flames welding with your shirt soaked in gas. Loved the 2 Cleveland rebuild videos as well.

I really like how you did the install exactly the way is supposed to be. I have seeen a lot of guys complain about the kit and majority of the time it’s because they set it up wrong. Just got a sub from me
@meatsrodshop71162 жыл бұрын
Most of the issues Ive seen on this style EFI unit is the installer errors. Fitech and Sniper both have issues if you don’t follow the instructions. A little electrical back ground helps as well. Thank you for watching!

Well I got the whole thing installed in about 15 hours. Ran 10gau back to the tank because thats what I had. All connections are soldered and tucked away neatly. we have about 50 miles of seat in the pants performance so far and this thing ROCKS. had to play with the IAC some but it seems to be fine now. Car idles at 800 smooth with my 475/260, 108LSA. Thanks for showing me the in tank system where you don't need the return line. They just dont give out that info.

Nice video - thank you! Have a few comments/question. Is it necessary to use the fan and pump wires from the Holley set-up. What if you made connection with independent relay and used the "I" wire from solenoid for the trigger? Seems this is doing the same thing?
@meatsrodshop71162 жыл бұрын
It depends on how you want to trip the pump and fan. For me one of the positives is having the EFI unit control the fuel pump and fans. If you use the “I” ignition wire to trip them, they will run consistently. I like to run them only when required

I have a 1968 Mustang Coupe with the 289 C4 and I like the idea that you can install the Holley Sniper with their combo sender/fuel pump and not have to mess with a return fuel line. So what was your gas mileage before and after the install?
@meatsrodshop71162 жыл бұрын
To be honest I haven't checked it yet. I've just enjoyed driving it so much that I haven't stopped to check. I will try to make a point to do so this week depending on weather here in ATL.

Thanks for the video, I want to do just what you did on my built 65 289, with the in tank kit, I have 5/16 line so mite need to replace that but like not having to add a return line.
@meatsrodshop71162 жыл бұрын
If you’re not turning a lot of power, you could get by with the 5/16. Typically 5/16 will support close to 500 hp

I am not using the ecu/emi MSD electronic box, but a Flamethrower II with coil. The tach wire is a question in terms of connection?
@meatsrodshop71162 жыл бұрын
If youre asking about EMI my answer is yes. All of the aftermarket units tend to have EMI issues. As they say in maintenance, You cant have enough grounds. Ground the tach / signal wire Shield, and you should be good with either setup.

Dang it;;; I watched all this and it looks like it might be a Windsor engine but he never says. Now on the Holly website they don’t specifically sell 351 Cleveland sniper kits so I’m guessing the install here was on a Windsor engine.
@meatsrodshop71163 ай бұрын
It’s a standard Sniper 1 system. They don’t make engine specific units. Just a standard square bore single plane Edelbrock intake. Thanks for watching!

Is it really necessary to use fuel injection clamps if the steel line has bulbs on it?
@meatsrodshop71162 жыл бұрын
I’m a yes on that. I don’t like to gamble, the cost difference isnt worth the gamble
@cab4word2 жыл бұрын
good question, I bought the wrong size Earl clamps and found some nice cheep injection ones at the parts house that work just as well. I would stick with ones rated for injection to be safe.

self learning is a marketing myth. self correcting is the correct term. You're going to have to tune with a laptop. All of Holley's timing tables are based off of gm ls engines. Tires broke loose because you have better fuel and a lot more timing. Be careful.
