The reason, was simply to upgrade the BMS, which meant the modifications were necessary to fit the new JK inverter BMS in a box which wasn't designed for it.

The 'old' 10C BMS goes to a friend in Germany, so the box needed a new BMS. And why not use a JK, right?😄

Great video, I have been waiting for these videos since it was first mentioned about the new JK Inverter BMS. Try using threaded inserts in the 3D printed frames holes that are pressed into the plastic with hot solder. 3D print the test holes that will best fit your purchased threaded inserts. Self-tapping screws are fine for the prototype, but try threaded inserts as upgrade for the final version.

Yes! Brass threaded inserts are excellent and would make this solution truly #bombenfest!

Yeah, I've seen them. I thought they get super glued into the 3D part not pushed in with a solder? I used normal M3/M4 screws and the result is actually very very good. I'm surprised myself.

Great video as always Andy! I bought 6 Mason 135Ah almost 2 years ago, they came with the V1 BMS, 48100 10C, and must say I'm quite disappointed with their reliability because I had 2 of them die recently, one month of interval between, and am afraid the others won't take much longer until it happens. Seplos provided me with instructions on how to replace a diode (D4) so I sent to a technician who did and it worked, the BMS is back working, but it's a big hassle. If I have one more dying soon think I'll replace them all by JK as you show here.

Another big JK Inverter firmware BUG??? Hi Andy, did you test a JK Inverter BMS as a master and one (ore more) slaves connected with RS485 to the master? In my Victron-System I got via CAN only max/min cell-voltages and temps from the master BMS and no volt/temps from any slaves as max/min from the whole battery-system (all packs). The cell-block-count, capacity and all other values are reported correct to victron. I updated the JK firmware to the newest 14.20 but this BUG still exists. Do you (or any other user) have this problem too?
@rockyfox70879 ай бұрын
It still has a lot of issues and jk support doesn’t actually care For example the SOC is not related to total voltage so you will have different soc with same voltage Besides it sucks with other inverters like the Growatt and Sofar
@OffGridGarageAustralia9 ай бұрын
Yes, I heard about this bug and tested it. No such issue here. Master still showed the slave after two weeks...
@rockyfox70879 ай бұрын
@@OffGridGarageAustralia its not that it doesnt show the slave You got me wrong What I meant is that im having different SOC with the same voltage in the same battery, so in one day Im getting 50% for about 51.xx and other days its 50% for 50 volts or even 48 So I think its because the SOC now is depending one single cell voltage when any cell reaches the “SOC 100%” value in the settings then after that it doesn’t really change according to the total voltage

Hello! I have a Deye SUN-6K-SG03LP1-EU in pair with the JK BMS PB2A16S20P (HW V15.XA, SW V15.17), I successfully installed it and it works very well. I have only one problem that I can not fix for now - I need when Grid AC is lost or restored (no matter) to force the battery to charge to RCV (Requested Charge Voltage - 3.45V, 55.2V) but it charges only to RFV (Requested Float Voltage - 3.35V, 53.6V). When AC is restored, the only solution for now is to turn off and then turn on the option "Floating Current Voltage" in the BMS. After that, I see that the charging voltage is set to 55.2V and when the charge is finished the voltage is changed to 53.6V. For now, this charge algorithm works only by timers set in BMS. Is there any way to force the BMS to request RCV on AC restore (any trigger maybe)? May be someone know how to fix that? I've talked to DEYE support and they said that this have to be done on BMS side. Thank You!

2022 "3d printed plastic wouldnt be strong enough for my purposes" 2024 "bombenfest!" Weclome, Bambu, send this man a printer. EDIT No, Bambu make this man a signature printer, the Bambu Bombenfest! A printer big enough to print the whole front panel.

Nice job, but you should get your 3D printer adjusted, first layer looks like way too high, not getting a uniform surface

I think it's great. It is calibrated and levelled as per instructions.

How is your relationship with Seplos now? I really wonder what goes through their mind when they see your videos. They must be wondering what happened that made you go through all that trouble just so you don't have to use their product that you already paid for.

Well, the relationship is great and we are in contact to work through some issues with the V3 of their BMS. Here, as I said, it is a friend in Germany who was after such a 10C BMS as Seplos does not sell them any more and I had one installed in this exact box. I had to replace it😉

I would have just made a new front panel with the 3d printer.

The whole front plate? I can only print 300mm max with mine, so would be two parts stitched together.

Wow! Your 3D printer is pretty expensive. You would have been better off getting a creality K1C or K1 Max. They are almost the same price but have way more features and more than 10 times the printing speed. I got my K1C a few weeks ago and it would print one of those big brackets in around 45 to 60 minutes They can even print high temperature filament like nylon and support carbon fiber filaments
