I had the same problem with the balance cables. 2 resistors blowed on the BMS. After I reported the problem to Gobel, a note was immediately added to the instructions and there was supposed to be a V2 cable set for which the labeling should be changed. BMS was replaced by Gobel. That was already in August 2024.

1) Try pushing the BMS reset button on the left side. 2) Try removing BMS Batt+ power wire for a minute and reconnect. Check amperage on Batt+ line with Uni-T clamp-on meter 2A scale. Normal running draws about 19 mA. BMS turned off Batt+ line draws about 0.15 mA. If doesn't fix, I would not leave BMS powered up in that condition.

Nice video.. Now i know where you made a mistake.. I went and watched video on Gobel website how to make it done properly. I believe it was genuine mistake from your side.. I did check it few times just to see it correctly and box is Indeed only for 280Ah battery cells but from description and cells mentioned it looks like higher Ah cell could go in..that is why it was so tight for those cell ..I believe..

Do the MB30 have the same dimensions as the LF280?
@322-Dota214 сағат бұрын
yes. MB31, 30, lf280 are the same stuff, probably while manufacturing they test how much is capacity. So best is 31, a bit worse is 30 and worse is 280. That's how I imagine
@leumel90011 сағат бұрын
No, they are very slightly bigger in all directions by design. Not very notable though, regarding the tolerances. At least judging by the allowed dimensions in the datasheet, a quite big LF280K could theoretically be bigger than a quite small MB31.
@olafschermann159211 сағат бұрын
@@322-Dota2and 2024 LF280K have 5% more capacity than 2023 LF280K. No idea why they kept the name the same
@leumel90011 сағат бұрын
@@322-Dota2 This is wrong, I'm afraid. The amount of "goop" slightly different (so the weight is also higher) and also the internals of the cells are different (thicker separator layer). That is also why the MB31 has a much lower discharge current rating (never higher than 0.5C!) than the LF280K (1C cont. or even 2C pulse). That is not important for slow discharge solar storage purpose, but might be for other applications.
@mandimandi25232 сағат бұрын

Once again Andy great video! However once again you've neglected a glaring issue with the JK BMS. I bought one from china and its very annoying that they don't provide a installation manual. It's extremely annoying to have to take a picture of the chinese text and use google to translate the chinese pdf... So what do you miss EVERYTIME you install one of these bms's, you ask? Those goofy balance leads have two black leads. The manual says they are ground... OK great. Which ground, battery ground or cell ground??? There's only two black leads per four red leads so it must be battery ground, RIGHT???? I don't know and with the consequences of hooking up balance leads wrong resulting in letting the magic smoke out, I need your help. I've had this BMS for a month now and I still have no answer.... And the most annoying thing is that if it truly is battery ground then there is absolutely no good reason to have these black leads included with the cell positive balance leads. You can't convince me that the ground plane of the bms itself couldn't provide the accurate ground reference needed. Thanks for the excellent videos. But please don't skip this info on the next JK BMS install...
@RobSteve113 сағат бұрын
If it’s the inverter BMS, the first two black wires are the temperature sensors. On the first connector, the third wire, red, b0, is the first negative. The manuals are challenging at best. I am not sure if the people that translate or write the manuals are actual engineers or know anything about electronics. The manuals also seem to be coming from the distributors/resellers, not Jikong themselves. To top it off, the wiring diagrams seem to be low resolution thumbnail images enlarged, not the actual high resolution image that you could use to trace the wiring.

i still dont like the compression system that gobel uses. i just built an apesium(seplos) battery, and there you have a frame between the 2 rows of batterys, which allows the compression plate, to also pull between the 2 cell rows. so you have compression left,center,right which compresses the cells uniformly also they have one big pcb for the balance leads, which is easier and cleaner than a bunch of wires in my opinion
