I installed these L&b hobbies bearings on my harbor freight tumbler. Ive been tumbling rocks for 4 days and so far no problems. But it seems louder than i think it should be. It looks like the main drive shaft may have a slight bend to it. But its running well with no problems except the noise. Yours sounds quieter. Thanks for the video. It was very helpful.

I loved your comments in the description! Too funny!😅...I thought your video was very helpful. A little long, but who cares! I'm going to order this kit. What's really stupid, is why don't they just build it right in the first place. And this isn't just Harbor freight. I noticed the Lortone machines that you spend anywhere from $125 to more than $300 are built the same crappy way!? They are ripping customers off! Pisses me off! "Are there any problems as of today with the bearings"? I thank you for your video sir!

I have used this machine a minimum of 3 times a week since this video with no problems.👍

Interesting that they leave out a couple steps, however complete the instructions might be. Lotta steps! My biggest obstacle is finding the tool to remove the clips on the ends of the shafts. Patience us required!

I bought this kit for my wife's rock tumbler and it didn't work very well at all. The bearing assemblies close the gap too much for the drums to freely move being on the inside of the frame and it just binds up constantly.

Use the plastic guides to center the drums and a dab of Vaseline on the lids if the guides squeal. My drums ate away about a 32nd of an inch of the bearing housing even with the guides.

Hell Nooooo I would not be jumping through all those hoops….. for $60 I’d just go buy another one even if it was $20 more…. I gotta give it to you though I would have used this machine for Target practice with all the messing around that you had to do. Great Video though

They are stupidity loud without the upgrade and the next dual drum tumbler is $100 more expensive. Probably doesn't need fixing first though😉

That was a big roll of bubble wrap 😆 🤣. Ok I'm thinking that seemed like a pain. I'm afraid if I tried doing it, something would end up stuck in my wall and lots of new swear words would be invented 😆. Take care.

Filming took 48 hours as I had to keep walking away before I broke something trying to force it.

I'm very curious as to why you would have to machine it yourself but as you say it's saves money 😂 and yes I can appreciate the 3d printed bits 😂

But you didn't show it running with both drums in place, so does the drums rub against the inside screws or bearing housings and L&B Hobbies has no website so where did you get the kit from?
@ManMountainMetals2 жыл бұрын
I didn't? Well I should have and I have newer videos that show me using it. But to address the issue, yes you lose some space. One set of bearings could possibly be mounted on the outside of the frame 🤷♂️ I was going to try on my old one. Honestly even mounted as they are, I simply adjust the guides and give them a smear of petroleum jelly to prevent squeaking and excessive guide wear. The barrels run centered no problem.

I got the kit off eBay.

That motor still sucks and gets too hot.
@ManMountainMetals2 ай бұрын
@AEON. I still got it and run it every week. Sometimes, multiple times a week 🙃 the bearing took out a lot of the rolling resistance, and I honestly haven't had a problem. Does the motor get warm? Yeah, but it's a Harbor Freight item, you can't expect greatness.
