I love my level mate. Combine that with Anderson Levelers and it's a snap to level a trailer - especially when I am by myself.

Nice to meet you both, yeah i know it is a really basic video, one of my first ones. That levelmate is so darn nice. Save so much time AND stress. You can literally pull up at a camp and be level with out even trying. I am glad it helped an thank you for watching. Kevin

At the 4:52 mark in the video, the App says you should set level with any slides out. Other than that, excellent video on the setup!

have been thinking about getting one of these but the hilarious part is that you have to level your camper before you can install and level a device that checks if everything is level.
@RVKevin2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Michael, yeah it makes sense though. Everything needs calibration, heck there are times where a good cold beer helps me get calibrated at camp. The good thing is you really only need do that setup step when you move the device within your camper. Since you Mentone it, I might make a more detailed setup video that would show how simple the process is. For me, I rely on the level mate pro device since it makes camp setup so fast. Being a realist, I do carry a level with me. Who knows, I could use it to help a fellow camper get level.

@@RVKevin The irony of it is that you have to "level" the "level" so you can make sure everything is "level" and this is with an electronic device that *should* be able to determine automagically where level is just like a spirit level does in relation to the earth. And yet, If you spend like $3800, you can get auto leveling jacks (another electronic device) that does it without having to pre-calibrate or level.
@traceys9035 Жыл бұрын
If no battery installed if you loose your power I am guessing you have to go through the calibration again? That would be a pita.
@RVKevin Жыл бұрын
Tracy, I will double check that, and I should actually make another video that describes just what you asked. Leveling is not a big deal actually. Without it, we have to level the rig every time. To me, if in fact I had to do a re-calibration level once a year , I would feel that I was ahead of the game. Thanks for asking

Just came across your channel, good info. Question on set up of the Levelmate Pro+. Did you manually level your rv with the slides out, then close the slides and press “set level” on the app?
@RVKevin2 жыл бұрын
Jim, exactly right. When you pull up to camp and put your slides up the setup procedure help compensate for side lean. I hope this helps. Kevin
@JJ-Journeys2 жыл бұрын
Okay, my concern was getting ready to camp and getting it level side to side with the slides in, then Chocking the wheels and unhooking to level front to back. Then to put the slides out and find out that now your not level. Hope this isn’t a confusing question.
@RVKevin2 жыл бұрын
@@JJ-Journeys great question. Get the rig level and set the app and you should be in business. Next time you go camp you will find its level again. You do want to make sure any equalizer hitch is not under pressure, as that can make a difference. If you have difficulty you will want to contact support to see if they have additional advice to get it level. Hope that helps.

Do you think the pro + is worth it over standard level pro...I read battery on level pro is good for 2 year for current gen model.
@RVKevin2 жыл бұрын
Barr, for me I upgraded to the Pro model because I would forget to turn off the battery. And the battery will not last 2 years if you leave the unit on. With the Pro+ , the unit stays on unless I really want it off. The functionality of these leveling devices really is a huge time saver. No guessing, so many times I have pulled into a spot and found a level place without even having to get out of the truck or put leveling blocks out. It is a YES from me. I hope this is helpful to you. Thanks for watching

LOL, getting the refrigerator level is more important that getting your bed level? Toss that LP refrigerator and get a 12 volt compressor refrigerator. You won’t regret it.

What is the power source as you are driving and levelling?
@RVKevin3 жыл бұрын
Jeff, i am currently using the supplied power cord and leaving it plugged into a nearby usb port that my RV has. the plug is really close to where i installed the LevelMate, so the unit is always on even while driving down the road. The draw is minimal. 1/4 amp or so.
@jeffs66733 жыл бұрын
@@RVKevin Thanks. I am new to RVing. The usb port is powered by the onboard batteries?
@RVKevin3 жыл бұрын
@@jeffs6673 welcome to RVing. There are many things to know about, take them one bite at a time . Google "usb c" that is what you are looking for. You could even buy a cigarette adapter to make your self an outlet. *** check walmart too " Last night we rolled into camp, the ground looked uneven. I just kept rolling into place the trailer perfectly found the right spot. -camp setup = 5 minutes. The amount of time saved and luxury of this device can not be under estimated

Since you already had the LevelMate, did you have to reinstall the app and re-measure everything?
@RVKevin3 жыл бұрын
@ chris robertson, that is a great question. I did uninstall the app and reinstall from the google play store. I don't think it was a requirement, the app needs to pair and sync to the new hardware and take in the NEW measurements. The measuring / leveling process seemed more specific this time so i just went through the process which was really not hard at all. This is a good reminder to me to include that information on a future video like this. Thank you for watching 😉
@liquidrockaquatics39003 жыл бұрын
@@RVKevin it’s the exact same app and the same process. I had to start over from the beginning as it is a new unit and requires new registration. As far as the app knows, this new unit is on a different camper, so I guess that makes sense. I wish I had written down my earlier measurements as they were quite exact last time. This time I am mounting it in the driver’s side front closet instead of the passenger lower compartment. I didn’t have a signal problem before, but it was going to be a bastard to change batteries, and I already forgot to turn it off 3 times. I knew I needed USB power.
@liquidrockaquatics39003 жыл бұрын
@@RVKevin I posted that question about 8 minutes before the mailman showed up with my new LevelMatePRO 😆. It makes a huge time difference for me as I am disabled and slow moving. I use the beech lane levelers (like Anderson) to level side to side and use a drill to operate my tongue jack. So much faster than last year’s 280 cranks of the jack handle
@RVKevin3 жыл бұрын
@@liquidrockaquatics3900 , that's good to know about needing those measurements. I absolutley understand what you mean about the battery going dead. I hope this new setup works great for you 👍

When in your truck can you view the app in Landscape?
@RVKevin3 жыл бұрын
Steve, thanks for watching. you can turn your phone to landscape. the image of the RV Does NOT rotate however. that being said, i have found it very natural to hold my phone in vertical mode as i might answer a call and i have never even thought to display horizontally. you may have need to hand your phone to someone helping you and it is very convenient.. by the way.. you can install the app on more than one phone. you can only see data on one phone at a time. i hope this helps.
