Definitely a bike rack for people who don't ride bikes lol.

Why do you say that? I ride my bike and I am interested in this. I am not sure if I have a suitable location for it but it is a good idea.

@@deserteagle10 Your statement is as ridiculous and silly as the reasons you gave for making it. You simply have no basis to make your comments other than you can’t afford the lift. It’s okay if you can’t, perfectly fine using cheaper alternatives. Nobody knocking you for using what you use, but you feel the need to come take a crap all over someone else’s solution? Come on, man. Really? I know at least a dozen professional cyclists and twice that many aggressive amateurs who ride every day 365. Some of these people don’t even have a bike rack or a garage. Yet, they have thousands and thousands invested in a single bike + gear. A few have very elaborate solutions far beyond what Matt is showing here and exponentially more expensive. While most just have bike mounts or hangers in the garage. Cheap and simple. But one thing is for sure, NONE of them would turn down this lift. I’m sorry but your “lols” comment wasn’t funny. It only show lack of vision and possibly ignorance.

@@Reaper-Jim no he’s expressing his opinion which is what happens when someone posts a review on UTube. I also think it’s a POS. Matt’s opinions are typically right on but for me this is clunky, slow and a waste of money vs buying something simple that hangs the bike. I ride every day so for me this would be very inconvenient but if u like it....more power to you. I would bet hard money people who buy this will not like it after a year or so...

You should have moved the mount closer to the right as close to the wall as possible. You could have mounted the remote on the right wall and the door would swing fully open.

It wastes so much space though. That whole area has been taken up by that lift. Seriously, use steady racks and that's only a 1/4 of the space taken.
@joshowens2219
@joshowens2219 2 жыл бұрын
Just a MEH on this one. Kids will slam the door open and hit the bikes, lift is kinda janky if you move the bikes side to side. You'll probably end up putting stuff underneath them anyway and have to move the junk before you can use the lift. Wont use the bikes as much when there up and out of the way. A highend bike stand you can store/display and work on the bike is the way to go. Still watched the whole video.

That has got to be the most ridiculous and cumbersome way to store two bikes in a garage that I’ve ever seen. Especially in this application, it interfered with the door. I understand that it was a paid partnership with the lift company, but there is no way you’re going to keep that there. You know it’s ridiculous and out of place too.

Hey Matt, The thing has so many possibilities. you know what would be a neat if there’s space in the attic you could Cut A hole in the ceiling and make a cubby so the bikes could go up into the cubby and clear the door and still keep the attic separate from the garage totally not necessary just a crazy idea have a good one as always and Mike if you read this great work.

If it were a bit more to the right prob would’ve been better. Control unit on right wall. But overall useful especially for kids bikes too.

I was thinking the same - further away from the door. And the controller on the sidewall. The last thing I want is to load dirty/wet bikes up and stand underneath them when all the stuff is dripping.

Do you know what kind of pulley that is inside there? I already have a similar setup with unistrut and pulley but it's not electric. I could just mount a pulley vertical above. But I can't seem to find any that look like that. How does the pulley cable get from the bottom of the black box up to the top and not get tangled or caught on anything? Usually when rolling up a cable it has the wheel horizontal. Any help would be appreciated.

Some people just don’t seem to get the concept of this auto-bike lift. Wether it’s the cost, functionality or look … I think it’s going way over their heads. It’s not about the cost, the space savings, it’s functionality or any of that. It’s about it looking badass and getting bikes out of the way. That’s it. It does this at 100%. Look, I spent $40 on a bike rack 20 years ago and I’m still using it today. Will I ever buy anything like this? No, of course not. But don’t hate on something just because you think it’s overpriced or not functionally sound. I think the lift looks cool as hell. It’s not for me but I appreciate it existing. 👍
