Actually, the SaddlX company noticed that as well on my video and told me I could send it back to have it re-done if I'd like. Haven't decided yet. but what great customer service !!!

It's a Pioneer AVIC 4200 NEX I got at Crutchfield. They probably have an upgraded version by now, though.

Mike I have a general question about the sky I’m interested in buying one but I’ve heard bad things about performance especially first gear from dead stop with the 2.4 I would appreciate your thoughts thx in advance , Tom

Well, I'm not gonna lie. You'll get more power with the turbo version (Redline). But you can boost the performance on the 2.4 a bit. You can get a turbo from RPM Motorsports. You can do a Stage 2 tune (which I did) also from RPM Motorsports (I have a video reviewing that). You can get a supercharger from DDMWorks. And you can get a Sprint Booster to make it even more fun (I have a video on that too). So it all depends on what you want. If you're a turbo guy, get a Redline or GXP (Solstice). If you don't like Turbo lag, then get the 2.4 and add some engine mods.

The quality seems subpar. Primarily around the brake. How has it held up?

Not sure why you say the quality is subpar. It's very well made and actually makes longer trips (which I've taken recently) much more relaxing since I can rest my arm on it. Unlike the stock piece that is plastic and sits very low.

Do you find that the black leather is hot to the touch if you're parked in the sun with the top down?

Not sure yet. I just installed it and it's been raining ever since. Hopefully I'll find out soon, but from what I understand, since it's perforated leather, it should be cooler. We'll see.

Yes. I like it. Every time I get in for either a short or long drive, it's a comfortable place to rest my arm.

Hey Mike, Thanks for the info. I'm in Canada so expect it would be close to $500 cdn to ship mine down there and ship it back, not to mention the duty that will be charged on the Canadian side. I have a local guy who does really good upholstery work and I'll check with him to see if he can replicate this item. If not, I'll order one from the saddlx company. I had an idea today and thought I'd bounce it off you to see if it's a lame idea. I have a base model too and I was thinking of taking the fenders off and painting the vent inserts silver like the Redlines are and then I thought, what about putting led light strips in there somehow and connect them to the signal lights so drivers beside you can tell when you have your signal lights on a bit better. Maybe they could be light all the time and flash when the signals are used. Lame or Cool? Lance

Thank you for taking the time to write Salvador. I would be interested to hear a total to Canada. Far example, The $295 would translate to $400 Canadian and shipping the part down would be close to $50.

@@LanceIs55 Looks like Salvador is handling the pricing. As for the LED lights in the fenders, I've seen that and it's actually pretty cool. Just make sure to check your laws as far as which colors you're allowed to use. Also, the vents are not open so you'll have to drill holes or something to put the wires through.

I cringe ever time you put it down on the brick and twist. How scuffed was it by the time you finally got it on?

I re-watched my video again and I only set it down on the porch a couple of times. I never "twisted" it on the bricks. Anytime I turned it around, I was holding it in my hand. So there were no scuff on it when it was installed. I do like how it feels when I'm resting my arm on it during long drives. :)

Looks terrible. Wrinkles under the handle ,lumpy padding on top My local convertible top and interior guys in NJ did a flawless one in an hour with leather for 115.00...mike, your positive reviews if all your upgrades, and vendor supplied products really are disingenuous.
