Dude your v10 is sick!!! I love the way it sounded in the previous videos. I have an 01 2500 v10 short bed with 128000 miles on it and DREAM about doing a lot of what you have done to yours. I hope to see more videos man, they're great!

Nice rig!👍 I've had 2 dodge trucks with the v10. One was an auto and the other was a 5 speed. Cant beat the power! Even over a cummins. Pulled loaded gooseneck like it wasn't even there💪

Any reason why you went with a junkyard engine instead of rebuilding yours? I get it might be cheaper and quicker but your truck has been down for awhile anyways. Rebuilding allows you to address any weaknesses in the engine and you know everything should bolt right back up. That's my thought process on my 96 V10 Ram anyway. Nice truck! Love the red.

The replacement engine had 55k miles on it and it only takes a few days to swap out a motor. Try rebuilding an engine you can barely find parts for in that small of a time frame. I wanted my truck back on the road and now it is. I have the original engine to actually build on, and make sure it can take boost. When its rebuilt and strong I plan on swapping the engines again.

Do you still have any parts? I need some headers.

Did you over rev her? Broken rods are not common on magnums!

Sure did. Almost everyday for 6 years🤣

What are your thoughts on swapping a V8 5.9 with a V10 8.0?
@shawnedwards27004 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't do it personally because it would not only be downgrading the motor and power but the V8 360 5.9 motor wont mate up with the 47re transmission that only goes with the Cummins and V10 engine platforms. You would need an entirely new trans and transfer case if 4WD. Or a simple transmission adapter plate custom made so the 5.9 V8 would work with the V10/Cummins 47re transmission.

I am aware of transmission replacement, and PCM’s which is not a problem, but I guess what I really wanted to know was, in your personal/professional opinion, are there any differences in performance if any? And out of the two, which do you prefer? Thank you.

@@adriananoelle4699 I would choose the V10. More horsepower and torque. The main difference is you get 2 less pistons which is less power. They are both easy to work on. I prefer the V10 over a diesel also btw.

Shawn Edwards I can concur with the preference of gas rather than diesel. I had a chance to compare a V10 vs V8 and the V8 is scandalous upon startup while the V10 sounds more “gentle” why is that? Is it the extra pistons? Also, would you say 90’s magnums are comparable to today’s engines from Dodge/Chrysler?
