I sincerely thank you for making this video even if it didn't help me it will help other and i respect the work you've done to resolve my problem and i discovered where it was coming from since i'm French and use a AZERTY Keyboard to have the numbers like 1.2.3.4 you ned to hold shift or else you'll get &.é.".' and this is why it didn't work so i fixed it just by pressing the shift key ^^

Excuse moi, j'ai beau suivre le tuto a la lettre, avec tes conseils etc mais aucun moyen d'y parvenir, alors j'ai surement du louper une étape dans la vidéo, mais faut il modifier quelque chose dans le dossier "dd tower stacker.ahk" ? parce que quand je construit ma tour, j'ai beau appuyer sur shift, alt, ctrl ou quoi que ce soit impossible de les stacker, si tu pouvais m'aider... merci bcp =)

If you're having trouble because of a different keyboard/language, try switching to the english keyboard BEFORE you load up DD1

If anyone finds this in 2024. If you have ANY other virtual keyboard input methods enabled on your PC but English it will not work. Just set your system input method to english.

@@jayrangel949 You need to follow the steps in the video. 1. Install auto hotkey 2. Download the script file 3. Change the extension to AHK.. The file should change to an H icon. 4. Double click the file If AHK files are set to internet explorer you may need to reinstall auto hotkey. If this doesn't work you can search google/youtube for "associate a file type with a program in windows." I would need to know if you are using Windows 7 or Windows 10 to help with this step.

Im not getting the H symbol for the file and When I try to open it, it opens into notepad. help pls (update): forgot to set up auto hotkey. got it working now.

Ok so it kinda works but only lets me stack two towers and doesn't even let me stack at all for some towers specifically lightning tower. Idk maybe im doing it wrong

I've ran into a problem. When I try and run the Autohotkey it comes up with "Autohotkey help" and i'm unable to make the file a .ahk. Been looking around for ages and cant find a fix was hoping you would have an idea. Hope for a responds :D

The Autohotkey Help page is irrelevant. The video should already answer your question. Just make sure AHK is installed. Then copy what I do from 0:10 - 0:40.

hey , so i tried many scripts for this but it never made me able to stack towers, downloaded autohotkey, renamed your file to .ahk so it opens the little icon at bottom right but when in game i place tower then ctrl + 9 it doesnt work.. im playing on redux. basically its not pressing the space bar. i even tried to do the space bar thing manually and it doesnt work either. ive tried reisntalling autohotkey, restarting my pc but nothing ever helped :/

Did you rebind the jump key or do you have a different keyboard layout (e.g. AZERTY)? These are the most common issues people have. You could also try editing the script yourself. I would need more information than "it doesn't work for me". Do you have a gamepad plugged in? Windows 10 or 11? I've never played Redux so IDK if that's the issue.

What about monk? (i kinda did it with apprentice but as monk i cant see to be able to build two auras at the same spot

You can build 2 different auras on the same spot. I donno about the same aura, but probably not. The issue you're having is that the aura may be too big. Try shrinking it or taking off your gear before placing.

I'm not sure if I did something wrong but I got it to work however if I'm not fast enough it wont let me continue to stack towers or put a new tower over the others. The rotation is the hardest one to get cause again if I'm not fast enough having to press two keys down at the same time is tricky am I missing something?

Are you using the script? I never had issues with it. Speed isn't important. You should be able to wait long periods of time between stacking as long as you haven't built anything else. It's possible there's something else affecting you such as sticky keys or other programs.

I do believe so yes that I'm using the script. I am able to open the script up in notepad and customize my hot keys but I have changed nothing. Example if I am using wizard lightning towers I have to make sure I press control and 9 at the same time. Which normally is not an issue. Same thing with the deadly towers , control 0. But I run into problems when I'm trying to alt 0. For whatever reason if I don't do it quick enough I can't place any more towers inside of each other or a different tower inside of it.

@@AnInsaneZombie You don't need to press both buttons at the same time. Hold CTRL first and then press 0-9. You don't need to be fast because the script presses both buttons at the same time for you (spacebar + # key).

I have a czech keyboard, it's a QWERTZ but when I press the numbers above I get +ěščřžýáíé. First I tried changing the autohotkey script from numbers to these symbols but that didn't work, but like ppl suggested using shift + ctrl/alt + numbers fixed the issue !

When I try to open the script with AutoHotKey it says "Error: This line does not contain a recognized action."

I figure it would at least tell you which line gave that error? Maybe it saved with a hidden/invis character and AHK doesn't like it. It's also possible a newer version of AHK doesn't like some of this code.

idk but i feel like thats cheating, it allows you to make much stronger builds in a way that was not intended, further more since you need autohotkey for that its like using 3rd party software for cheating

I agree, it's kind of cheating. However, it's part of the game now and even the community developers use it. Also, you don't need autohotkey to do it, but does make it a lot easier. The other thing that was frustrating to learn was 4x splitscreen. I wasted hundreds of hours farming Lab Assault only to learn about this after.

Windows 11 or Linux? What does the file icon look like instead of H? I can't really help without knowing more about your situation. Try right clicking the file and saying "Open with..." > Choose another application. Then search for the Autohotkey program executable.

I dont know why, but it doesnt work for me. when Im in the game and i slash ctrl + 6 and it doesnt stack the tower, but normally place, but not stack in the same place.

I assume you're playing the old DD (not Awakening). I also assume you've watched the video relating to fullscreen. Lastly, it's not "slash" ctrl 6. You have to place a tower first then use the hotkeys.

It still works. Please watch the video and read more comments. Make sure you are the host, you installed the right script (fullscreen/windowed), and the script is running. It might be related to a weird keyboard layout or custom keybinds.

You can play survival on Tinkerer's Lab, don't know where you got that one from. If you can't do it on survival that's because you haven't beaten the campaign.

I'm not sure what you're asking. This script wasn't intended for auto starting waves, but you can learn scripting to do that.

Yes, this works on Windows 10. What has issues on Windows 10 is the gamepad emulator. Only Auriplane's version works on Windows 10 for that.

@@sm000thX You need to run the fullscreen macro as administrator and be the host. Place a tower with #, then stack a tower with CTRL+# or ALT+#. You don't need the macro to stack, but it makes it 100x easier. To stack without the macro you press # + SPACEBAR simultaneously or with a 1 frame delay. The window mode macro does not require Administrator, but you need to start in windowed mode. Press ALT + Enter to enter fullscreen after you are in game.
