💥 You will definitely noticed the difference on slopes. It would be nice if tractors came with adjustable rims. Ever see those spiral adjustment set up from either Case or Ford back in the day? *Keep on tractoring!* 😁👍

Haha it sure would wouldn’t it?! I think I know what your talking about with the adjustable rims.. that would be a great feature to have or even a great option to be able to buy that feature with the BX cuz it sure needs it, what a difference already I have noticed and lots more traction to boot with the wider footprint. Thanks for watching Jon.

You made a good choice going with the 2" instead of the 1.5". I put 2" spacers on my tractor about 6 months ago and they work great. Your tractor is looking great! I don't think you have a skid plate yet though. You should consider getting one.

Hey buddy, great video. Very interesting learning the bx's front is wider than the rear. I did the 3" on my L2501, and man, it makes ALL the difference in feel when I'm raising up my 1,150lb snow pusher 7ft in the air! I wanted the width, but NEEDED the space for tire chains. We've been in the -45 wind chill, but by Tuesday we're mid 40s! That's a nice swing. My buddy working on line 3 pipeline in Minnesota had a 12hr night shift at -44F regular temp, and -58F wind chill! I don't miss those days what so ever. I'll be looking forward to your front end rebuild. You definitely work that BX! take care bro

Wow that's a great point that you may need spacers for certain wheel chains.. I bet it makes installing the chains easier as well having a bit more room behind the wheel to get them adjusted.. Sounds like your getting very similar weather to us! Its been very cold here and been below freezing for a month but now the weather is finally turning and things are warming up, calling for 40s tom so that's gonna be refreshing cuz I'm tired of plowing this year and I'm ready to get back out in the lawn/dirt! Thanks for watching buddy it was great hearing your experience with your spacers on your L-series.
@ironheadbiker
@ironheadbiker 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the inner fender rubs against any chain from I think the b series and the L series. And probably the LX series. I know GP Outdoors did it on his B for that reason, and I believe that's why his new LX came with spacers already on. That inner metal fender rides too close to the tire sidewall.

Great job on the video!!! I'm an owner of an 1880 new in 2019. It has a loader, a box blade and a belly mower. I also had the 3rd function valve installed in case I ever needed it. My only regret is the belly mower which sometimes is a pain getting on but I've got some ideas to help. I'm a first time tractor owner and am very safety conscious. I live in an area where I'm the youngest at 67 years of age and am the 1st guy to have a loader and a box blade. I've done plenty of work for my elders ha. My problem is that the boss wants me to get rid of it and get a riding mower since we are done with all our needs for the loader and box blade. I am worried that my 80 and over crowd are used to the use of a tractor and one of them will buy a tractor with a loader and I know he will roll it on his hills. I've done a few jobs with dirt for him and he wanted me to take a certain path close to a hill and bumps and I had to tell him that I'll go this way to be safe. I hope to get the mower easier to install so she doesn't see me struggling and I can keep my old fellas from buying their own. I have no problem doing whatever they need, it's fun! I just don't want them killing themselves! Hopefully this summer goes well and if I can keep it I'll definitely do those spacers!! Been watching ya'll since 2018! Thanks!!!

Hey Tom thanks for your comment! You are a very nice Neighbor to be helping out your elderly community with your tractor. I agree it is a lot of fun and is very satisfying to be able to help others who don’t have a tractor. It sounds like you really enjoy what you do and using your Kubota BX so I would def advise your wife to keep the tractor specially if you guys can afford to. The mower deck can be a struggle for a little while until you figure out it’s quarks of getting it all hooked up.. it use to take me 20-30 min to install my deck now I can remove and install it in under 5 minutes no lie:: the hardest part for me is getting the deck under the tractor but that’s because I don’t turn the guide wheels and I just rip it under the tractor by force as I’m usually in a hurry haha. Is your deck the drive over model or the regular model? Next time you install your mower deck try leaving the loader on and use the loader to pick up the front end of the tractor like a Jack.. then you can roll the deck under much easier. Once the deck is under the tractor installation is very simple.. maybe I’ll make a video on how I install mine so that you guys can see the easiest way.. but if you have a drive over deck then yours will be a little different to install and i’v never owned the drive over deck model. The PTO I always leave to install last.. I always install the rear of the deck first and slot it into the 2 pins.. after that I’ll connect the front of the deck using the bracket.. then lastly I’ll install the drive shaft and then finally lift the deck up off the ground. Which part of the install do you find most hard to do? Let me know and maybe I can help you do it easier.
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 3 жыл бұрын
Also if you are not using the loader and boxblade as much anymore then why not just leave the mower deck connected? You should be perfectly fine with leaving the deck on you only suffer a bit with ground clearance but for most simple tasks, moving or spreading dirt around or even using your rear box blade the mower deck will be just fine hanging under the tractor while you do it.. the only thing you gotta watch out for is to not catch the deck on a stump, log, or Rock.. as long as your careful you can leave the deck on year round.. I only take mine off because of the various types of jobs I do with my tractor.. and also my tractor won’t fit on my trailer with the deck on so that’s another reason I take mine off when I finish mowing but I don’t think you have to. Hopefully your wife lets you keep the tractor.. at this point you won’t loose much value by hanging onto it. They retain their value very well and even tho you may think you won’t need the loader or grader box anymore I assure you that at some point some Job will come up and you’ll kick yourself in the butt for getting rid of it. That’s just my 2 cents tho.

@@BiffsEquipment Thanks, I agree that I'll miss it so I'll keep working at it. I saw a guy who had his rear tires go on a ramp to get it higher is that I will try first. The PTO connection is the only problem I have with installing so I think that will help. TY For the input!!!

@@botabob I totally agree Bob, the bro-tek are just way too much money for a wheel spacer.. there is no way they are made any stronger than a typical wheel spacer either .. and if they are made stronger it prolly isn’t needed.. they sell the same type of spacers for pickup trucks that weigh 7,000-8,000lbs and tow 10,000lbs so you can’t tell me you need some ultra durable $200 spacer for a 1,400lb tractor lol.. More than once it felt a bit top heavy before, and now it feels much more planted. As for the suggestion of Loctite, it is not needed as the nuts/bolts have a taper. Nobody every put Loctite on car or trailer wheels, right? LOL!! Spacers are not needed for the front wheels unless you want a look.

That’s great to hear Bent glad your enjoying the 2” spacers as much as I have been, your right about three stability it adds and it was wise of you to add them if you have a ton of heavy slopes. Your also correct about the loctite, I said this in another comment as well that it’s just not needed.. proper torque on the studs/nuts and it should never come loose.. nobody uses loctite on automotive wheels either and never have an issue.. I can understand that if your never planning to take the spacers off and really wanna be sure they will never come loose then it’s not a bad thing to loctite but it’s certainly not needed. Hey GP thanks for your comment! That’s great to hear I’ll have to check it out I appreciate you letting me know as it’s hard to catch everything that happens on KZbin that’s for sure! As for the toque I would highly recommend torquing all of the studs to around 90ft-lbs when your all done as that’s the factory spec for the Kubota BX but you should go by whatever your manufacturer says in the manual for your given tractor.. long as they are torqued to spec you should never have an issue.. I just cranked mine down with an impact gun tho as I was an automotive mechanic for many years and know the feel but it’s always best to torque. Thanks for your comment GP, I appreciate you watching!

Hey John thanks for your comment, I'm sorry I'm just now seeing this. Your bx2200 rubbed because the mower deck is a little different on those only bx1800 and bx2200 tractors.. Anything bx50 series and up should allow you to run 1.5" rear spacers for a 50" deck and 2" spacers for a 60" deck... You should have absolutely no problems at all running 2" spacers on your new bx2380. Hope this helps, let me know how you make out!

Great job. I was told by my dealer that I could go as wide as 1 1/2 only on my 2020 BX 1880 but that works for me. I wish I had some numbers to order those on ebay as most of the name brand spacers are almost twice the price. I was wondering if you have heat in that shop of yours

Thanks man, yah they prolly told you 1.5” because I’m assuming you have a 55” deck and not a 60” deck, the 55” deck can only do 1.5” spacers but the 60” deck can do 2” spacers with out the wire interfering with the deck. I’m super happy with mine so far specially for the money, time will tell how durable they are. As for my shed I have a Gas REZNOR hanging heating unit that I installed myself in the fall.. it works fantastic and can heat the 20x20 shed up in about 7 minutes I can take my coat off.

@@BiffsEquipment Thanks for the return comment and I never bought mine with a deck because I have an almost new 54 inch zero turn mower that's faster at mowing than any tractor so I think my dealer figured 1 1/2 inch was plenty big enough for the small 1880. I will do some more checking around. I have ordered a set of hand built rear stabilizers from Mark Hodge and want the skid plates before I do any off road work. I have a propane heater just to warm my two car garage but have a friend that's gonna give me a huge pellet stove so hopefully I can get it hooked up before next winter. Thanks

Zero turns are nice, I owned a commercial scag when I first started my KZbin channel but eventually traded it for a skidsteer that I fixed up and then traded the skidsteer for my Cummins pickup truck lol.. I do a lot of wheeling and dealing that’s how I get half the things I own cuz I don’t have a lot of money lol. Hello, I have two questions regarding this wheel spacer. First, how did you determine your choice was a proper fit (make and model of vehicle to fit on your Kubota)? Second, since I have a 54" mid-deck mower on my BX2380, how do I determine the correct part/model number for a 1 1/2" wheel spacer? Separate question: Your thoughts on installing a trickle charger pig-tail and leaving the Kubota hooked up to a trickle charger when not in use?

Thanks Jerry! Sorry I’m just now seeing your comment. The wheel spacers in the rear do WONDERS for this little machine and not only make it MUCH more stable but actually give it more tractive power I have found with the wider stance. Also it looks much better too which is a bonus. Did you ever pick some up? Just make sure when you do that if you have a 50” belly mower you only go as wide as 1.5” spacers but if you have a 60” belly mower then you can go with the 2” spacers as I did and I’ve been extremely happy with them. @@BiffsEquipment I received the following from my dealer regarding spacers for a BX23S: "the widest we can get is the 2.5” total. Kubota does not recommend going wider, with the backhoe attached it creates an issue where the rear axle is too spaced so that the weight of the backhoe with a wider stance can cause broken rear axles" I thought initially he meant 2.5" spacers, not total. I don't see why a 600lb BH puts much more stress than other implements on the back or a ballast box. 2.5" total doesn't seem like that much to make a difference...Plus $250 for the two 1-1/4" spaces is expensive, I assume the ones Biff installed come in 1-1/4 too so if I do put them on I'll get these..

I got my 2” spacers for under $50 delivered so I wouldn’t but if you really want to go with BORA and don’t mind the wheels sticking that far out then you can try it.. I just feel it would hurt your rear axle over time

Kubota sells wheel spacers and installs them on new tractors. I don’t see how they can deny warranty based on this.
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 2 жыл бұрын
I agree man, Kubota didn’t sell them yet as of the making of this video I don’t believe.. and from what I heard installing your own spacers could void warentee such as if you suddenly have an axle seal start leaking after the install then I’m sure they could give you a hassle. Always better to be safe and double check first is mainly what I was getting at, as I would hate to kill someways warentee by them doing what I did in this video so def do your research and just make sure first. Kubota may want you to use their own special spacers and they may only warentee the wheel spacers up to a certain thickness as the more thickness you add the more leverage and strain your adding to the axles, bearings, and seals. Thanks for the comment 👍🏻

Would these spacers work for a bx1880?
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment Жыл бұрын
I think you’ll have to step it down to a 1.5” spacer for your tractor because if the smaller deck and smaller tires but I can’t fully remember. A quick google search should find you the info your looking for.. or take a look through the comments section on this video as there was a lot of talk in there about what they would fit and what they wouldn’t

Well I ordered these, and they work great. I don’t use a mower deck. I have a 48inch brush hog from Rural King. Thanks for your videos they are very helpful. 👍

Is the torque on the spacer 95# also?
@BiffsEquipment
@BiffsEquipment 3 жыл бұрын
Hey David, yah I would torque the spacer to the same specification as Kubota recommends as it’s the same size fasteners

Looks like this would hit the belly mower on the left side.

Hey James, The tires do not rub on the mower deck.. 2" spacers are well known to work perfectly fine as long as you have a 60" deck.. If you have a 55" deck then youll want to run 1.5" spacers no larger.. If you check out my most recent video where i built a weight bracket for the front of my tractor youll see in that video that the rear tires do not come close to rubbing on my mower deck as i have the deck installed in my most recent video. Thanks for watching!

Sorry about that but it was a LOT of info I was trying to rattle off before I got started. I try not to leave out any info when I’m doing install videos and if I talk slow the video becomes too long. My newer videos are better though. Thanks for watching
