Installing Wilwood TX6R Big Brakes on my Duramax!

Installed the TX6R big brake kit front and back on my 2016 LML and I love them. The truck has much better feel and stops on a dime compared to the stock brakes. Can't wait to tow with them.

When I did mines I cleared all the lines of brake fluid first so I didn't have to deal with all the mess.

Dude I've loved watching the transformation of your truck from day one. I have the 2016 2500HD instead of the 3500. We both like the exact same mods. I'm kinda following everything you've done just at a MUCH SLOWER pace. I've really been thinking about doing the same brakes but I'm not sure if it's worth the effort and expense. If you don't mind, how much all together (everything) did the brake swap cost? And is the stopping power that much different?

jarotex thank you for the kind words. The brakes in my opinion are definitely worth it with the bigger tires and extra weight on bird. They stop much better than the stock ones especially after the lift was done. They were about $4500 through the Dmaxstore.com

Keeping my Duramax but I went ahead with pre-order on the Cybertruck! That thing looks like it's going to be a beast! Only a hundred bucks put you on the "first to receive" waiting list. Right now I'm pumped about that thing. 😃

Thank you for sharing all your truck videos. I have some questions about your lift pump. I will be installing a lift pump on my LML soon. Did you ever have to install a sump or has your lift pump worked fine without one? Has the pump ever given you any problems when your fuel take has been near empty?

Dude, stop double or triple clicking the torque wrench... One click and done, otherwise, you are changing the torque value.

Weren't you running 17s? What offset and did they clear the spindles without spacers?

Benny Castro I was running 17x8.5s without a spacer and they cleared fine. Now I have to run 20s to clear the Wilwood 6 piston brakes
