Installing Workbench 3.2 On An Amiga 1200 Using WinUAE 4.4

In this video I'm going to install Amiga OS 3.2 (Workbench 3.2) onto an SD Card using WinUAE 4.4.0 and then I'm going to boot that SD Card in a real Amiga 1200.

Another great video! Those “other two kick files” are if you want to burn your own HI and LO roms. :) Couple tips. 1. Always hit ENTER after changing any text field. 2. Advanced options in partitions contains handy block size and buffers which you can alter. Larger block sizes are useful for 2GB+ partitions. Buffers can make these a little better too. 50-300 if you have enough fast ram. They do eat up fast ram. Be aware of that.

Unfortunately, my Amiga 1200 has 0 bytes of fast ram. It's like the dark ages.

Great Video, The only thing I would look at when setting up is changing the max transfer to 0x001FE00 on all partitions also when you make any changes make sure to hit return to set it, the file system I found ok as they address large Hard drive in the rework of FFS and works great for me anyway.

HI. I am in progress of SD card preparation for my real 1200 and tf1260. Tried to use IMG of the SD card available online, tried many SD cards, all ok under winuae, but none of them bootable in real amiga... So trying your method - the only thing i've noticed is - after when you add hardrive and want to click "properties" then "full drive RDB mode" is not available in newer versions of Winuae... tried 5, 4.10, and finally one 4.4 which has been used by you here...

@@bordellobrotherz I got them from retropassion. It was £40 for the OS disc, and they sold and burned the A1200 ROMS for an extra £10.

I have a compact flash and the hard drive light works fine dave don't need a sd to ide adapter

Compact flash must already provide the correct signal. Actually I think that makes sense as compact flash is basically just IDE as far as I know.

Hi, could you help me ??? Have ROM's with 42 pin, how to put them in socket ??? tryed normal 42 to 42 socket, not working ... tryed to leave last 2 pins out, but also not working ... with no working I mean that I don't have the POST 3.2 screen ...

Not sure, but I think you might need to write the data onto the ROM 4 times, because those 2 extra pins means it can address quadruple the space. So if the computer tries to read out from those places it would be reading garbage from the larger rom that you are trying to use. I'm no expert, I've never burned my own ROM

We can't do a 'full drive/RDB mode' (no option) in 4.9.1 but if i use a 4.4.0 working configuration, it's work !

I have a M.2 on an adapter to sata to eide adapter on my amiga. Can I connect it to my PCs hard disk dock which is a sata dock and add the drive to win uae so that I can access it on my PC?

What's the default file system in 3.2? I thought PSF3 is the go-to choice these days, however, you didn't change anything relating to the file system during the installation?

You added a Hard Drive, but when you selected it and clicked Properties, it says Hardfile Settings, not Harddrive Settings (they are different), what happened there exactly?
