Perfect explanation of the concept of Installment sum. Saw a couple of videos but all they explained was how to use the shortcut formula. This is probably the first video which explains the concept behind the sum. Thankyou Sir.

@SonalSingh-lh8qb5 жыл бұрын
Nope. It will not. Cause in previous question, present value was given. So, he calculated the future value of the same by multiplying it by (1.1)^3. But, in this question, directly future value is given, so we need not to multiply anything in RHS.

I am guessing that, the questions where installment is paid at the beginning of the year, we have to consider interest for all n year and not (n-1) years. Also i would like to know how to calculate when installments are not equal.

Sir what the change we have to do if installment have to pay at the beginning a year
@satyaranjan533 жыл бұрын
Just learn how to transmit different points of present value to future value and vice versa, u will crack it. If at the beginning, then you need to take in account for the future value of first payment considering there is a clear mention about down payment.

@gayathridevi61918 жыл бұрын
it is not the total money u have to divide fr 3 yrs... to get an amnt of 66000/- u have to pay 20000 + intrest money for 2 yrs (since u r paying 2 years earlier)=24000 [x+(x*10*2)/100] and fr next year u need to pay 20000+intrest money for one year =22000 [x+(x*10*1)/100] and fr 3rd year u have to pay= 20000. x so total bcomes 66000/- we got x=20000 substitute that value in the eqn =x+((x*10*2)/100)+x+((x*10*1)/100)+x

66000 is not the borrowed amount. It is the amount that you are paying, that is the sum of all the instalments. The borrowed amount is actually around 49500 rupees. Please note that the instalments in this case are not equal. This can be a little confusing

Sir, your lectures are very good. Great Work. But sir I am having a difficulty with the question of following type: What annual payment will discharge a debt of Rs 1025 in 2 years with 5% interest compounded annually. You have told to mutiply the factor (1+(r/100))^t , But the answer is right when i divide this factor. Can you help me out sir? Totally confused. Thanks!
@itssabhi8 жыл бұрын
x+1.05x = 1025 , 2.05 x= 1025 so x = 500
@dcqec1115 жыл бұрын
@@itssabhi Twice 500 is 1000, which is less than the amount borrowed. How is it possible? My answer is 551, which you get if you assume 1025 to be the present value instead of the future value as you have done
