I am smiling so much about adding dill and garlic. My mother was Russian so I know exactly, dill and garlic is a must! I am excited to try this as I haven’t had pilaff since I was a kid. Such comfort food.

So I made this with white rice and it works with the same cook time. I’m not a big fan of brown rice it doesn’t work for me. But my sister is a fan so she’s going to try it. Thank you for having amazing recipes I actually just introduced your channel to my friend who’s getting a kick out of the fact that I’m making Insta pot type recipes of food that she knows. Her family is originally from Ukraine.

This was absolutely delicious 😀. I made a slight change and added a stock cube into the water, to add some extra flavour. Thank you so much for sharing your recipes, I've had fun trying out what you've tested for us 👍

Followed recipe used skinless boneless chicken thighs. After 22 min with quick release, lot's of water remained. Stirred it around while on saute low until water evaporated. Very tasty dish! Probably use one to one ratio on the rice/ water ratio next time.

I always peel onions under water. Once you top and tail them put it under water immediately while you peel. Less tears.

Hello from Australia. I just saw your recipe. I love it. I made it and it was a real hit with the family. My family is a little bigger so I was wondering if I can double the ingredients and cook it in the 6 inch? Thanks again! 😊♥️
@ifoodreal4 жыл бұрын
Hi there. I tried that and it didn’t go well. Maybe you could try 1.5 times but not double.

I want to try this but how many does it serve in my household its 3 adults and 2 small children and I try to make enough for lunch for next day since all 3 adults work.
@ifoodreal4 жыл бұрын
It depends how much adults and kids eat. I would say 6 large servings. You can 1.5 ingredients and keep same cooking time. Enjoy!

avoid the tears by leaving the butt end attached to the onion before you chop. Great hack.

when chopping onions If you do not want to cry do not cut the boath end of the onion leave root end on the onion so you can chop your onions and vegtables without crying.

Tried this with brown basmati rice. I got the burn message so undid it, scraped the bottom, put more liquid, put ingredients back in.....burn message again....the basmati rice was overcooked before the pressure function even started...chicken was cooked too....if I had pressure cooked it it would have been mush...
@ifoodreal4 жыл бұрын
Not sure what went wrong but smth did... This "the basmati rice was overcooked before the pressure function even started" indicates smth is off...It's impossible for rice to be cooked before IP even came to pressure unless you changed some ingredients like minute rice or some IP malfunction or idk.
@ritasmith43354 жыл бұрын
@@ifoodreal no, I did not use minute rice. What is idk? I am still learning how to use my instant pot. Your lentil and veg recipe was fabulous. Thank you

Please be aware that brown rice is not better for you than white rice. It contains far higher levels of arsenic - organic or not. ☠️ 🍚
