Wow, I had a great Biryani at a local Indian restaurant and I've been searching all day to make one at home in my instant pot. Crazy that this was made 8 hours ago.

I love how you are soo detailed and precise. I feel like I have my own personal chef at home. I have tried making Biryani before but it was a fail. I didnt want to do it at home again but seeing this inspires me to do it one more time. This looks so much easier to do. Thank you soo much for what you do! :)

I love your recipe! I'm using the one from your video 5 years ago. I find that the secret to avoiding Burn Notice is to remove onions from pot after translucent and add 1/4 cup of water, then the chicken and THEN put onions back on top. Those onions love to burn! :) Thanks for the yummy recipe!

This recipe looks great and I’m going to make it for dinner tomorrow night! May I know when to remove the 2 cardamom pods or do they cook down and don’t need to be removed? Thanks! 😃
@thasneen Жыл бұрын
Cardamom pods are usually not removed, it’s an aromatic whole spice. While having the biryani if you get the pods you can discard them. Hope you’ll enjoy this biryani, do let me know how it turned out :)

I tried to surprise my wife by following this recipe. But it did not work out - less spices & rice was undercooked. Had to update with additional spices.
@thasneen Жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that. If you're used to spicy biryani, I agree this will be mildly spicy but most find this biryani flavourful. Soaked white basmati rice will be cooked perfectly in just 5 mts pressure cooking followed by QPR after 5 minutes. If you find the rice is undercooked you can either pressure cook for 6 mts or after pressure cooking close the pot with the lid & let rest for sometime & the rice will turn soft.

Please be little more fast in explaining but thank you for the recipe…..

Aren’t you supposed to add double the cups of water per cup of rice?? The rice won’t cook properly is you’re going the 1:1 ratio.
@thasneen6 ай бұрын
In the Instant Pot, don’t have to double the water, for 1 cup rice 1 1/4 cups water will suffice. More water will make the rice mushy.
@SelvarajSSR-ol6px2 күн бұрын
After sautéing u need not pressure cook it u can directly add rice water chicken and set it to biryani moe it automatically sets the time and pressure normal and after the set time Biriyani is ready In Nutripot this is my setting I don’t know about your instant pot
@thasneenКүн бұрын
Instant Pot is different, it doesn't have a biryani setting; hence has to be pressure cooked.
@SelvarajSSR-ol6pxКүн бұрын
Oh I see it’s like doing in normal pressure cooker
@SelvarajSSR-ol6pxКүн бұрын
