This time on the AutoEdits Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Jeep build... I share a really cool trail lighting option that will give me a ton of added light without mounting a light bar above the windshield!
Here's a link to the Baja Designs website with all the technical specs and data for these bad boys:
www.bajadesigns.com/products/...
If you are going to utilize the LP4's on the A pillar like I do in this video, make sure to get the reflector covers www.bajadesigns.com/products/...
Here's a link to the AutoEdits Amazon store where you can find other items from these videos (like the Bones gloves I'm wearing... it was cold out 😂)
www.amazon.com/shop/autoedits...
You can also go all the way down the rabbit hole like I did and watch the complete set of ‪@bajadesigns‬ videos on the different lighting zones and how best to get coverage!
00:00 Introduction
02:03 Parts overview and install process
06:33 Light demonstration and comparison
09:25 Conclusion
Thanks so much for watching, please make sure you are subscribed to ‪@AutoEdits‬

I tried some new music for this video, let me know what you think and if you want to license some for your own videos, head to www.ironmikeent.com/home-page...

I've been offroading (REAL offroad, like racing in Baja and rock crawling the "Hammers") since 1965. I learned a LONG time ago that lights mounted close to the driver's line of sight work well to light up the road, but they make the road look dead flat. Because there are no shadows to define rough ground. Rough desert or forest trail looks like an airport runway. This is not terrible at speeds under 20mph. But can get you in trouble at higher speed. Like cruising down a dirt road that LOOKS smooth, but has nasty ruts, rocks and bumps.

I have been waiting for a review and light demonstration of the LP4s mounted on the A pillars for months and I think your the first person that has done it on the Jeep. I have been debating about getting the XL80’s or the LP4’s for the A pillar for awhile now. I’d like to see what the hood reflection looks like from inside the vehicle with the light straight out in front and then moving out towards the sides. Thanks so much for the video!

I'm the same way when it comes to mods. I love the look of the KC light bars and would love a rhino rack but even with my 35's I'm already pushing it on parking structures. I just ordered some 37s and I know it'll be even harder. A drawback to also thinking about weight in my jeep (I don't have a rear bumper and have replaced everything with aluminum means that my rear is quite high as well. It works out when wheeling weight wise and when camping since I just sleep in my jeep but who knew those would be the problems that come up.

@@AutoEdits Im also a fan of more subtle/clean look too. Granted I'm not sure how subtle our lifted jeeps really are but I don't like the "overland" look on it. I purposely choose mods I can also remove when not in use such as the rock slide engineering spare tire rotopax mounts that come off when not wheeling/camping and anything like that.

Happy New Year 2023! Where is Pinto, need for the New Year. I added the Quadratec 50-inch inside the cabin (behind windshield) lightbar. Heard one was being made for the JK as well. The only issue is if you're tall it intrudes a bit into your field of view, especially at traffic intersections. Since it's behind the windshield, I am not sure how it would be viewed in CA for covering but have had no complaints on elsewhere. GOD bless and best wishes to you for the new year.

I've got some Baja Design Squadron Sport lights that I was considering putting on the A-pillar of my Bronco. The cowl has a mounting spot with a bolt already, but I wonder if mounting the light that low will cause way too much scatter off the hood. Have you done any testing to see how much differences having the light raised up a few inches makes?

What made you go clear vs amber on the lp4. I’m running the squadrons amber wide corning in my fog lights. Not sure on going amber lp4 or clear driving combo. At least it’s easy to switch lens worse case.

Just to mix it up... I have the amber on the LP6s in front so I thought the corner illumination should be brighter since it's not for bad weather or dust... just strongest vision.

Hi Jason, Random question, can you mount the mount turned 90 degrees (sideways), and then turn the light 90 degrees? Would require threads on the top and bottom of the light. I couldn't figure it out based off their instructions. Regards, Greg

Hi, more questions please. I'm trying to add lights in the turn signal location as I want stealth, yet functionality. I'm running the JW EVO J3's. Going to add amber fogs in the bumper fog location. My questions are with the Trail Pro's you have. Any experience with the trail sports, the lower tier? Are the Trail Pro's more cosmetic in terms of light spread as you've added the BD A-pillars and the LP6's... I'm trying to add "zone 2" width to compliment the headlights "offroad" setting. I just don't prefer the aesthetic of A-pillars and my bumper has no extra space for added lights. So... trying to find the better solution options. Thoughts? Thank you as always!
@AutoEdits
@AutoEdits 4 ай бұрын
I don't know the difference between the two but you will want more light from that spot if you want to get anywhere near the output of the baja designs stuff.

@@AutoEdits I'm assuming you haven't been pulled over for the backlight usage too? I have KC Flex Era 4s that also have backlighting, and I thought I couldn't use it on-road. But I recently saw a Raptor using theirs on the freeway around Big Bear, CA. Granted, it was snowing at the time, LOL. But still. Backlighting on these aren't anything like the amber fog lights other cars use legally, but the fact that my backlight was being used on an off-road light made me think I couldn't.
