Hi Jeff I've messed around with recurve bows a little bit but I never got really serious about it until now and I'll tell you why, it's because I believe in you and your advice, I've got to start from scratch, new bow ,set it up and everything thing ,my bow will be the Sanlida Hermit X8,Segway quiver, gold tip arrows and 15 pound velcro, LOL, but it's all because of you and I just want to say THANK YOU , I'll be in touch with you in comments GARY C MILTON, WVA

Thank you and its great you made the comparason between the two this realy helped. My setup is 27 9/16 draw and iam pulling 39#, With the 50 grain diference you got I think Iam good with the starting with the standered 500 spine full length and cutting down till I get my arrow. Congratulation on a nice Doe.

500 spine my dude, arrow length is really going to depend on your draw length not the bows

Been shooting the GT Warrior while in my learning stage of traditional archery. They fly quite well for my limited experience with my inexpensive Sanlida recurve. Have yet to test durability on a whitetail, still anticipating that experience with a traditional bow. I used, with a compound, PSE radial X weave for years, that cross weave construction made tanks out of those carbon arrows.

Hey Jeff! Your videos are fantastic! I’m new to archery and trad and your a wealth of information! Quick question….when it comes to length of trad bows what are the benefits of a longer bow over a short bow? I just bought a bear grizzly which is 58” but the addiction bug bite me and now I want a longbow that’s 64” my wife wants to kill me lol lol….I was told 58” is to short to learn on so I wanted to ask. I draw 27” by the way…Thanks brother!!!
@markmclaughlin4801Ай бұрын
I agree with what you say about Jeff he is a great coach and is really enthusiastic You can learn to shoot with your 58 inch bow. They say they are not as forgiving as a longer bow. You may find a little more consistent shots with a 64 inch bow as it can hide some form issues I have been told. I bought a 60 inch recurve .....shot it and learned to use it. Shoot what you have and maybe save longer term for a high end dream bow. You have to be careful or you will buy lots of bows.
@mknight6556Ай бұрын
Im not jeff but a 58 inch bow is perfect for your draw length. A longer bow usually is more forgiving and easier to pull, not as much finger pinch either. I would use the shorter bow for hunting and the longer one for targets if you do get both. And don't think you need to go crazy on draw weight either! I just killedy first buck ever and he is a dandy! Mature 10 point. I used a thick cedar arrow and a razor sharp zwikckey eskimo. My 43# Bear kodiak hunter from 1967. Shot him back in the guts but he didn't go more than 200 yards before dying. If you have heavy arrows and a very sharp broadhead, its amazing how fast traditional bows will put down deer. I don't pay attention to FOC. We use the heaviest spined 23/64 cedar arrows. The 80-85# spined port oford shafts. I've had archery shop guys tell me im way over spined,,. My uncle uses a #35 recurve and he's in the record book with a pope and younger using those heavy spined arrows. I used a 43 pound bow and now i'll be in the record book using those heavy spined arrows. They fly straight. My uncle said he uses the heaviest ones he can find because there more durable

I agree a 58” bow is fine for your draw length. A grizzly stacks a bit for me but my draw length is longer.

Hi Jeff, I would like to ask you a question, I just got some limb savers, It says on the package to place them as close the end of the limb as posable. I've been told that they should put on the fade outs on the limbs. could you please let me know where I need to place them. Thank you in advance.

Jeff, I just purchased a Oberon 29 pound draw weight. I have a 27 inch draw. Would you be willing to recommend an arrow? I’ve done hunting in the past with a compound bow, but now I’m just a 3-D shooter. Any recommendations as to what arrow you would recommend? by the way, I love the Oberon would recommend it to anybody

The only plus to having a 30 in draw. Most don't need to be cut for me so if I break it(which for me is gonna happen😂) so I have room to play with
@MichaelChambers-bx6ilАй бұрын
If you cut 2 different shafts the same length , I would expect them to shoot different, no matter the spine number.

Hey, im gonna be getting into archery hunting soon, and im going with the classic wooden arrows with the modern elite flex recurve bow, but i need help with the broadhead im gonna be getting, its called the VPA traditional 3-blade thats for glueing onto the shaft rather then screwing it in, i havent found any videos on it or how to put it on my arrow shafts, all im guessing with it is that i need to put about 2 inches to 2 and a half inches extra of my arrows for my draw length since the broadhead is 2 and 1/4 inches in length, can anyone here help me?
