I've had 3 ne over the passed 20 years . The first 2 were runners. Current one is more like your dog's in this video. This one has an interesting story. Glad i found this video and I'm subscribing. Thx for your dedication to our elkhounds.

cool video, we have a 5 year old On Vancouver island. she always wonders and comes right back and constantly checks on us to make sure we are there. is the most affectionate dog ever and loves either hiking or lounging around the house.

can they walk offleash when hiking in the woods?

For the most part they walk off leash, but they have a gait that is a little faster than a walk so they go out a ways and come back. But, yes, they can walk. Normally though they are in something like a trot. Thanks, Merv
