Institute of Christ the King Oblates

Oblates are an integral part of our Institute and are considered full members with all of the rights and duties that this entails. According to their skills and preparation, they work in all kinds of positions within the Institute: deacon, art director, office administrator, majordomo, sacristan, teacher, gardener, organist, accountant, or cook. They take part in all of our official liturgies and are trained to participate in different functions to enhance the solemnity of our liturgical celebrations.

One of the Oblates in this video is Abbe Kevin Kersher. He is one of my favorite people in the whole world. He serves the Canon and the Apostolates with great good humor, and he is greatly loved by the children.

F Morant Yes I believe the Church of the future will be very small and very traditional. Also we may have to go under ground. Our Lady has told us repeatedly that chastisement is coming. The minor chastisement is already here, I believe

oblates are brothers, although some become permanent deacons

@@davidleary9914 "clerical" rather than "clergical" actually. If you are looking for the official explanation it is on their website under the "oblates" section of vocation. I don't speak on their behalf, but am just someone who looked at the website recently. If you are looking for a paraphrased answer, then they are brothers. But some of them end up receiving minor orders to my understanding - subdeaconate and deaconate. With that in mind, it is perhaps mixed. Because it did not seem like all of them receive minor orders.

Perhaps the Pope and Archbishop Tobin of Newark NJ should spend time at this seminary. What abt those of Eastern rite? We belive in married priests and hold very dear the Eastern orthodox fathers.....RC church is more than Latin masses and return to the 16th century.
