When I was a kid at the ball park I had a big tub of Tropical flavored hubba bubba with like 10 different flavors in the tub, and I probably swallowed like 15 pieces in 1 day because they were just too juicy and flavor packed. When we were kids the saying was that it would stick to your ribs for 7 years. Ignoring, of course, that the ribs are not inside the digestive tract. That "gum base" is often plastic and synthetic rubber, ew. I have a hiatal hernia, top stomach sphincter doesn't close completely and acid shoots up the esophagus, and there is definitely a difference on left vs right side if lying flat. When I was a kid I used to love Bubbalicios (probably spelled wrong) gum. Especially watermelon flavor. Once after the ice cream truck was by I bought two packs of that gum. Comes in 5 pieces per pack. I ate 9 pieces. Then went to the fair and went on a tilt a wirl. Felt sick afterwards so I went home. At home I barfed up all 9 pieces of gum and you could still see the tooth marks in it. Gross but I had to share.
