This is a great and very clear video for a newbie to kumihimo like me, I picked up the basic 8 strand quite easily and not to mention thankfully ! But I’ve found for just plain unbeaded braid I think the flat shows off the design much nicer so I’m going to try my hand (pun intended!) at that, but I bought this kit from you and I’m hoping I can get the bead work down as easily as you make it look and my stress levels will handle, as the round braid with beads does look so pretty. Love this Video! I think if you put a 6/0 stop bead at the end of each thread, it is more secure than tape which has not worked very well for me. I am in the process of making one now. It takes a long time to thread all the beads but I think it is worth it. TFS, Julie

Hello reader I have a 2 questions : 1)What do I do with leftover cord or string from previous material kumihimo weaving? 2)do you have a scrap kumihimo brand video?

Hi Jose, great question. We haven't explored a lot of options for this but it's a good thing to think about. Leftover string might make good decorative tassels. If you have a couple good sized pieces of leftover braid you might be able to make earrings. Here's an example of kumi earring: beadaholique.com/products/kumihimo-loop-earrings-in-ice-blue

trying to replicate this with 11/0 tohos instead. i know they're a similar size, and i preferred the color selections, but i'm really frustrated this time around. didn't expect this. having trouble threading the beads onto the s lon. i have big eye needles, but the beads get stuck the last mm or so of the needle and i can't get them onto the cord. this happened last time when i used the kit pictured and a big eye needle, but i was able to work around it by threading by hand -- which was not easy and took forever. unfortunately, this time i am also finding the s lon is fraying constantly. not sure why it's become so hard. help! :) -christine

Hi. I think I saw some kind of spray that helps stiffen your cord ends and makes it easier when loading beads onto cords,but I can't remember which video was it.can you tell me the name of that product, please?
