Very good. I hear a lot of potential here. But, as JMJ would say, composing music is just like cooking, and I think you could add in a few more spices (sounds). Keep it up, we need more of this angelical music!

Sounds good, but not yet in the league of those who influenced you... technically good, but it's lacking originality (as does JMJ nowadays unfortunately :( ). But why the misleading video title? Do you really need to put someone else's name even before your own to get some more hits? If you really think you need it, put something in like 'inspired by JMJ, Vangelis' or so... Keep up the good work though :) (groeten uit Hengelo, ik zie dat je in Enschede zit :))

If you really did compose this music, you should change the title - you should call it "Compositions inspired by Jean Michel Jarre and Vangelis". People will still find it when searching and the title would be an honest representation of the content. I didn't get through all of it yet, but some is quite good. I can hear the inspirations of your heroes in some parts. "I Am Free" starts off with a Jarre sound, then some Kitaro with the rhythm and voices. I like that one cuz it sounds more like you played everything, less loops. I'm not a fan of "music" where someone just assembles loops, that's just cheating to me.
@AVBMP9 жыл бұрын
Thank you Firehawk for you nice clear comment. About the loop part. I dont like assembling loops also. You would be amazed how less loops I use. Almost all arpeggios and drum sections are done by myself. When using a loop I adding my own sounds with it. Its the sport to be original and create your own sounds and melody's. Well about the title on youtube you could discuss of course. In the video itself and in the about section I present my name very clear I think ;) Hope you like the rest also. Cheers Arnaud
@dstorfer9 жыл бұрын
***** Good to hear about the loops. I will take some time to put this on my play list and listen to the whole thing to appreciate it better. I've just started myself to get back into playing/composing from about 15 years of not paying attention to my talents. If you don't have it yet - you should check out the U-he Diva synth - you'd appreciate the beautiful analog warmth in it (just bought it yesterday). There is an amazing Vangelis CS-80 patch in it that gives me chills to play!

Otra cosa - no me gusta. Y tengo derecho dejar mi opinion, no ? Usted se enfada por las criticas ? Y si es su trabajo, pues por que respaldas el nombres de Jean Michel Jarre y Vangelis ? Tampoco no entiendo ?

Its a great album, would benefit from less flanging and phasing to separate out the different elements of the sound scape, and allow the bass to sit atop it independently. The juicy and bubbling base lines feel a little trapped on some of the busier tracks.

Your music is very nice Arnaud. Looking at the reactions, it's not clear to everybody that you are the composer en producer... I know your reasons to write JMJ and Vangelis in the headline. But I think it's a pity now most of the listeners think that your music is made by JMJ. Isn't there a solution to this? Like write your own name in the front or something like that? :)
@MyCoalField11 жыл бұрын
Both interesting projects but neither capture Jarre's true essence and certainly in the case of Aero was just remixes of previous work. Hate Teo&Tea but this is just down to personal preferences I guess. You would expect the sound quality of Jarre's work to be perfect due to lack of budget, but it is the content and lack of imagination that is disappointing for me.

There's just no helping some people :P Even the description is confusing. Everyone listening to this will be familiar with Oxygene, and yet it simply says, 'Composed and Produced by Arnaud van Beek'. Combine this with the title and you have some very confused customers.
@myAutoGen11 жыл бұрын
I see. Well I like it a lot. But what the devil is up with the title? It starts with 'Jean Michel Jarre' despite featuring only one piece by him. It finishes with 'Vangelis' who is not featured at all (maybe an inspiration). And it doesn't include your name at all. Very confusing if you ask me.
