I was walking to work around 4 A.M. during winter up here in Northern California and these two songs came up on one of my playlists and literally thought to myself this would be a fun song battle. "The Morning Of," is probably going to be in my top 5 most played songs when we get to those end of the year lists from Spotify. In terms of this battle this is a mood pick for me, it really depends on how i'm feeling. I love TNT and two other tracks on that album "I Set My Face to the Hillside" "Swung from the Gutters" Thanks guys

Tortoise's original guitar player, who Jeff Parker replaced, was the guitar player for Slint, who is credited with inventing the post-rock genre. JuJu is definitely more classically trained as jazz musicians. Tortoise really comes from punk rock roots. Two pathways to get to something similar yet different. Check out a Norwegian band called Jaga Jazzist; they kind of meld these two worlds together very well (kzbin.info/www/bejne/omPOhZR_hMadY9E)
