This will save a huge amount of time and money when compared to the traditional builds you have been doing, I like the rubber roof better personally but I think it’s good to offer an alternative. if I needed to fix PIR backed plasterboard to the underside of a rafter in my bedroom (about 75mm thick) what type of fixing do you think would be best? Need to prevent cold spots in my bedroom where a plasterboard diagonal at the top of the wall is directly exposed to the side facing soffit vents...this is causing black mould and, to boot, I would also suggest this is why the room is so cold in the winter generally. I can't lay insulation behind it through concern that it will block the airflow around the soffit...hence why I thought removing the angled plasterboard and replacing it for PIR insulation backed stuff

Kingspan advise most designs have purlins at 1.8-2m as a rule of thumb, but it will depend on your wind loading and quality of fasteners. The installation guides show typical industrial purlin supports, but also the panels can be made at in 1.8m-29m lengths so it's partly illustrative. There is a load span table at the back of the datasheet: www.kingspan.com/gb/en-gb/products/insulated-panel-systems/insulated-roof-panels/quadcore-trapezoidal-roof-panels-ks1000rw Double battening and hanging

Is there a reason why you don't cut a full peice of celotex in-between the studs from plates to knoggings?

Yes mate, we use 450x1200 as it’s easier to manage and cutting it along its 450 is quicker and saves on waste

but what level of insulation comparison does it give? 100mm celotex? 50mm celotex?

I think the advantage here is there is no thermal bridging as you'd get with insulating between the joists.

@@MrFish1968 as most heat is lost through the roof, id say insulating was more important a consideration

@@mikezoom42 yes, I know that, my point was like for like 100mm of this is more is more efficient that 100mm of the same material in between joists.

For people who have recently bought a build pack (me) will you be able to send the roof build step by step seperate if you create it?? Looking forward to the rod pack being available as well but first need to see if I win the raffle. Love the vids

@@thegardenroomguru I'm in a similar position as Kris, so the roof build addendum will be helpful. Also glad you're going to offer the rods etc in a pack, as I had a real tough job finding a metal shop that were willing to drill the holes in the shoes.

yeah insulated panels are fine on a high occupancy room.

@@thegardenroomguru Thank you for the swift response, much appreciated. Does an insulated roof panel mean no need for a cold roof construction? (hot roof is out of the question as we are limited to 2..5m). I looked at panelsells website and it says for agricutural or industrial use.
