Would have been just as easy to remove siding hang foam board over the outside of of metal studs ,then rehang siding ....its already cut to fit.. Some wider trim.....exceptional

Thats correct however the thermal air gap wouldnt have been effective.

@@greenpondbaptistchurch678 thermal air gap.... eliminating the conductive transfer of temperatures though metal framing more than make up for any thermal air gap.... The crowns and vallies in the metal siding is enough. Thermal air gaps increases the likelihood of amplifying the temperatures with the color of your siding.... It's traps and accumulates temperatures, Whether hot or cold.

​@MalleusDei275 Great point but the crowns run horizontal. Not to mention the thickness of the foam would require longer screws and not have the same contact, thus producing a weakend siding and irregular affixment. I staying with the inner cuts and the foaming the rails to elimate the heat sinks
